E-199 General Dynamics F-16AM Fighting Falcon Royal Danish Air Force @ RAF Leuchars Air Show 12/09/1998
Kleine Brogel, 20 September 2024.
An F-16 of the home team taking off from Kleine Brogel. This sight will soon be history.
A second view of NASA's General Dynamics/Martin WB-57F N928NA caught on short finals as she arrived in near darkness into RAF Mildenhall back in 2005
Originally a Martin-built B-57 52-1536 and re-built by General Dynamics and re-serialed as 63-13298.
We waited and waited until finally she appeared with that strange whirring sound from her Turbo-Fan engines, landing at 18:15 that mid October evening - hence the poor light - though if I'd had a wet film camera - this image would be black!

After completing my F-105 and F-106 Century Fighters I got a fair few suggestions on what to build next. One of the most interesting ones and an aircraft that I'd already been thinking about, was the General Dynamics F-111.
My friend Ed Diment (aka. Lego Monster) had an excellent model of an F-111 a few years ago, and it was one of the inspirations.
Rather than the overall grey colour that F-111s wore in their last years in service, I decided to give mine South-East Asia camouflage. This made the build a lot more complicated, but also adds visual interest (and makes mine look less like a copy of Ed's model).
Volkel, 7 October 2010
A very rare sight. Two F-16s taking off simultaneously on two runways. This happened at Volkel during the Tiger Meet in 2010. J-638 (311 squadron) is on the parallel runway. J-369 (313 squadron) in on the main runway. The weather was horrible that day.
Today, 15 September 2024, it's exactly 45 years since I first saw an F-16. F-16B J-259 was on static at Twenthe open day in 1979 and later that day F-16A J-213 flew a display.
