Ben Woodesons Kunstwerke gehen absichtlich auf Konfrontationskurs und streben nach einer intensiven, körperlich erfahrbaren Beziehung mit dem Betrachter und der ausstellenden Architektur. Aus umfunktionierten Alltagsmaterialien geschaffen, halten sie den Betrachter im Zustand einer gewissen Spannung. Bedrohlich strömt die Konsequenz gleichsam durch Skulptur und Publikum.
Besonders seitdem Woodeson seit 2009 an der Serie Health & Safety Violation arbeitet, vibrieren seine Werke förmlich vor Bedrohlichkeit. Manche von ihnen kommen ruhig, stabil und selbstbewusst daher, während andere den Betrachter mit katastrophalen Ergebnissen konfrontieren und wieder andere absichtlich gefährlich sind, wie es der Name schon sagt...
Im Rahmen von in/compatible präsentiert Woodeson eine neue Arbeit aus dieser Serie: Ein scheinbar unschuldiger skulpturaler Vorhang teilt das Foyer des Haus der Kulturen der Welt, sodass die einfachsten Wege versperrt sind. Um darum herum zu kommen, muss man sich für einen Umweg entscheiden. Dem Werk wirklich zu begegnen, erfordert hingegen wahren Mut zum Risiko – ein „interaktives“ Werk, das nicht den Anschein der Harmlosigkeit machen möchte.

Ben Woodeson’s works are deliberately confrontational; the pieces confront both the viewer and the exhibiting institution with their real or implied activity and consequences. Manipulating everyday materials within a space, the works keep the viewer poised in a state of slight suspense. Their physicality aims to instigate an intense and visceral relationship with the viewer and the gallery architecture. Threatening ripples of consequence are sent throughout the sculptures and audience alike.

For in/compatible Ben Woodeson is presenting a new work from his Health & Safety Violation series. A seemingly innocent sculptural curtain bisecting the foyer space, positioned to obstruct the visitor’s default routes. To avoid the work requires a conscious detour by the visitor. Equally, engaging with it requires a willingness to take risk. This is an "interactive" piece that does not pretend to be harmless.
Die Goldschmiedemeisterin Katja Osterhoff-Genz schmiedet in ihrer kleinen Dorfgoldschmiede in Haltern am See individuelle Schmuckstücke nach Kundenwunsch.
Sie gibt bereits seid über zehn Jahren in Kooperation mit dem Trigon Haltern, dem Katholischen Bildungswerk Recklinghausen der VHS Marl, dem Areopag Recklinghausen der VHS Dorsten oder der Familienbildungsstätte Recklinghausen Goldschmiedekurse für Erwachsene, Kinder und Jugendliche.
Das Kursprogramm wird durch Intensivkurse mit wenigen Teilnehmern, Pastoralkursen oder Beauty&Wellness Kursen ergänzt. Regelmässig treffen Sie die Goldschmiedin zum Beispiel beim Moonlight Shopping Seppenrade und anderen Veranstaltungen.

Stylianos Kountalis ha progettato e realizzato, per la prima volta in Italia, una piazza interamente illuminata con tecnologia LED. Sei cilindri in acciaio inox di altezze crescenti svettano come tronchi d’albero su una duna erbosa illuminando Piazza Cina, porta della città di Genzano. Le lampade, realizzate con taglio al laser sull’acciaio, riprendono le venature di una foglia. Gli alberi stilizzati si animano dall’interno, creando giochi di intersezioni luminescenti: alla luce del giorno il contrasto tra la “pelle” lucida dei cilindri e i vuoti degli intarsi rende quasi “vivi” questi tronchi artificiali, di notte le lampade flood rgb multicolore ricreano la magia delle antiche lanterne cinesi. L’impiego di acciaio inox speciale e dei Led a basso consumo consente un impatto ambientale bassissimo ed un effetto scenografico molto suggestivo. L’idea, ispirata dall’Albero di Budda, originario dell’India e Cina sudoccidentale, suggerisce un’atmosfera di accoglienza quasi “orientale” della città.

Borrowing terms from the cognitive and computer sciences, Liquid State Machine usually describes a soup of connected nodes, a situation with inputs, nonlinear functions and outputs which computes something or assists in its computation.
In this instance, the performance space becomes the computational soup bucket, an experimental Space-Noise-Continuum based on the connections between the plentiful nodes of both the kinetic-electromagnetic-noise apparatus of Martin Howse and the analogue/digital projection-machines of Wolfgang Spahn.
The performance begins with the subtle influence across these two distinct systems, arriving at an ultimate feedback between light (waves) and sound. LSM presents a play with transformations between distinct physical system domains.

Il laboratorio 'Salviamo Gli Animali' nasce con il proposito di approfondire con bambini e ragazzi in età scolare il rapporto uomo-animale, e le conoscenze relative a questo argomento.
L'idea di progettare degli incontri di sensibilizzazione sulle caratteristiche sociali, emotive ed etologiche degli animali – uomo compreso – vuole, con semplicità e immediatezza, attraverso giochi, disegni e momenti di dibattito, guidare alla conoscenza più approfondita e alla riflessione sul rispetto dell'altro.
Il ciclo di incontri si è svolto da gennaio a febbraio nella scuola media “Garibaldi” di Genzano, includendo sette classi prime.
Con ogni sezione sono stati strutturati due incontri della durata di due ore ciascuno, durante i quali i bambini hanno potuto cimentarsi in attività e dibattiti su questioni legate alla conoscenza reciproca e dell'empatia.

The reSource for transmedial culture is an initiative of transmediale, which aims to create a distributed platform and a peer-production context of research, knowledge and artistic practices throughout 2012 and beyond. The reSource works in partnership with CTM/DISK, Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien and the Post-Media Lab of the Leuphana University Lüneburg. Within the aegis of facilitating collaboration and the sharing of resources and knowledge between the transmediale festival in Berlin and the local and translocal scene engaged with art and digital culture, the reSource acts as a link between the cultural production of art festivals and collaborative networks in the field of art and technology, hacktivism and politics. The launch of the reSource takes place at transmediale with a dissemination of workshops, talks and performances, looking into the future through a series of events scheduled in the course of 2012, leading to the next transmediale festival in 2013.
