Another group of images from my garden using the 90mm macro.

We have been very lucky with numerous dragonflies emerging from the big pond. It's always a pleasure to find each new darter in the morning, this time it was quite well on in the drying process and in less than an hour it had taken it's first flight dipping into the flowers close by. Image four of todays upload shows the darter with it's cast shell or exuvia.

Sorry guys, I can't make my mind up so here is a series of dragonfly images I took in my garden. As you can see, it is the same common darter on a garden sculpture but turning just a couple of inches one way or another gave me these different backgrounds.

- the interior of my new 'blue shed'. It's such a peaceful place to draw, paint, read or chat to friends.

Is it me or does it seem that all the Seven-spot Ladybirds have gone missing, all I can find at the moment are 10-Spots, Cream-spots, 14 Spots and Harleys. I think I heard something about the early rise of Seven-spots causing problems, but can't quite remember exactly what!

I think this might be another 10-spot variety, but not 100%, either that or it's a Harley :)

I'm really enjoying my new space at the bottom of the garden. This particular night Terry and I walked down to have a drink and a chat there, with fairy lights on of course!

My new shed project started on April 4th and this afternoon the interior was finished and I moved my furniture in. An old teachers' desk, twelve apple crates from Kent for shelving, a 1960s tea trolley and an old armchair given to me by a friend.

As I type this the blackbirds are singing. What a happy day !

Bell in the Chinese garden at Biddulph Grange.

I'm so excited that at last it's finished. Now it's time to get down to work, in this quiet place. Thanks for all your interest!

Home made hedgehog house

Made with an old scaffold plank (tough wood, untreated and OK for outdoor use. Heavy though.) and some ply.
