Hodsock Priory near Blyth has a snowdrop tour every year. In spite of its name it was never a priory. And the gateway is the only authentic bit dating before the Victorian era.

Salvaged from old photo stock.

The middle bit of the garden. This is the bit from the patio to the pond, which my Brother, with help from my Dad, re-landscaped for us. The path, in the middle, used to be diverted on what is now the right hand border as you look at this picture. As well as moving the path, Colin has created two borders for us. I think he did a splendid job. The next part of the project is to get a gate to control Toby's use of the garden. Once that is in place, we can turf the two patches either side of the new path.

I couldn't put pieces wherever I want cos of the hard dead roots in the ground..www

Whenever I mentioned FEMA in New Orleans, the reaction was fairly consistent - I think this photo speaks a few words on the matter. Clearly federal response in the initial stage was seen to be a bit tardy.

A satellite view of the decking. I think the the way it has been laid is known as herring-bone. I liked the idea of having a one board wide edging too but I can claim credit for that idea. I blatently stole it from somebody else's project.

The meadow half cut! In the process of cutting it. Well let it dry and turn to hay before removing it so the seeds have time to fall.

The naturally decomposing stump our bird bath sits on. The insects, woodpecker and nuthatch like it.
