We got our first snowfall of the Winter season. The snow storm started around 11am and then intensified around 2:45pm. Then it snowed off and on overnight.

We made Ham & Potato soup for dinner. We had plenty of leftovers.

Unfortunately, I didn't measure how much we got until Saturday morning. I measured around 3 inches with a tape measure on our deck railing.

Ameland is a municipality and one of the West Frisian islands off the north coast of the Netherlands. It consists mostly of sand dunes. It is the third major island of the West Frisians. It neighbours islands Terschelling to the west and Schiermonnikoog to the east. This includes the small Engelsmanplaat and Rif islands to the east.

Ameland is, counted from the west, the fourth inhabited Dutch Wadden island and belongs to the Friesland/Fryslan province. The surface area of Ameland is 268.5 km. The whole island falls under one municipality, which carries the same name. The Wadden islands form the border between the North sea and the Wadden sea which lies on the south side of the island file. The municipality of Ameland has a population of 3,591 in 2017. The inhabitants are called Amelanders.

The island has four villages. There were two other villages: Oerd and Sier, but these were flooded and now lie in the sea. The name of these villages live on in MS Oerd and MS Sier, which are the names of the ferries to the island.

From west to east: 1. Hollum, the most populated village, located on the west coast, home to the island's lighthouse. 2. Ballum, smallest village, location of the island's airfield, Ameland Airport. 3. Nes, the second largest of the island, a vibrant tourist village with many hotels, also home to Burgemeester Waldaschool (the island's secondary school), and ferry services from Holwerd mainland. 4. Buren, located at the centre of the island, includes Ameland's beach.

This picture is taken on the north side of the island (Ameland’s Beach).

Found this weird robot while walking along some row of shops... Haha, this is so creative albeit a bit creepy though... those eyes!

plastic bag in garbage bin - sac de plastique dans une poubelle

Video of the long AGU raincoat that laid next to the garbage bin being treated as garbage by the cleaners, and stowed into the garbage bag alongside the rest of the garbage.

Gotcha! Caught this kitty scouring for food at one of the garbage bins inside the Singapore Botanic Garden. I quickly went over to the opposite end of the bin and took this candid shot of the surprised fella. =)

If Marvel Comics are looking for another super-hero, this guy could become Super Scavenger! The Australian White Ibis can be observed over most of the continent, both pristine and white in our wetlands and waterways and slightly more grubby amongst the land-fill of our cities. Learn more here:

I figured one of the best places to take a photo of Chili as Yoda was on top of the garbage bin. It was wide enough for him to feel comfortable sitting there, and his "feet" could dangle. I tried the ears both ways (right and wrong) but wrong looked cuter (as above).

ODC Framed (by the view) - and may I add that it was absolutely Baltic at minus 4 Celsius (that's around 24.8 Fahrenheit) and the fingers on my right hand were frozen in no time. It was worth it though as this view is so much better in the bleak of mid-winter than in summer when there's a lot of thick foliage in the way.

The people trow their gabage in the bin, this crow trows it out again.

A garbage bin on the street

Someone shoved the Rains Curve raincoat in the already full loading bay. Probably checked it out and decided not to take it and thus shoved it in the loading bay of the container.

I noticed that this underground container clogs up regularly. An ideal playground for me then :)

Dumped two pieces of rainwear by the rest of the trash that was placed in front, one Rains curve jacket and a Agu rain jacket.

Saw this on one of my trips to the gym. I like how rustic the bin and boxes are.

Applied the how it’s going meme to the progress of a mint condition AGU Raincoat.

Semi-stand Developed in Blazinal/Rodinal 1:150 for 1 hour

Very surprised and thrilled that I got results from film that expired in 1967. Lens is extra soft on this camera, or it could be that I took the lens out to clean and screwed it back too far. Very vintage feel though; I like it!

What was there first? The trash bin or the shopping cart?

New York remains what it has always been: a city of ebb and flow, a city of constant shifts of population and economics, a city of virtually no rest. It is harsh, dirty, and dangerous, it is whimsical and fanciful, it is beautiful and soaring – it is not one or another of these things but all of them, all at once, and to fail to accept this paradox is to deny the reality of city existence. -Paul Goldberger

Video of the Agu raincoat taking out with the trash

Against my principles I had to throw a pair of shoes away.. the leather was ruined by the heavy rains and the sole could not be prepared.. goodbye great green Italian shoes..

Long red AGU raincoat laying on top of the trash can ready for pickup by the cleaners.

Ozzy has found himself a brand new relax spot for his daydreams...

When I work on the pc, he sits in the waste bin...and that's where its there for now..

I couldn't throw stuff in there and take away his special spot...

that would be pitifully, don't you think so?

Happy Furry Friday from all of us!
