It is acknowledged as the largest fountain of the Wealth, registered as such in the Guiness Book of Rewards, and is located in a traffic island, surrounded by the 5 towers of the Suntec City. The fountain was constructed in the year 2005, when the rest of the Suntec City was constructed. The fountain was constructed to represent wealth and lifeThe above ground section of the fountain has a huge ring made of silicon bronze, with a circumference of 66 meters.

The whole area has a fair amount of greenery, while at the same time, everything is connected and you can reach the Fountain through an underground passage.

These huge plastic trash bins are instantly recognizable to Columbus people as being "Columbus style" or "the Columbus kind."

Day 66

Garbage on Queen Street, Toronto

In the surrounding area of San Maximiliano Kolbe School in Belgrano neighbourhood trash bins have signs drawn by the students teaching people to throw the rubbish in the bins and not on the streets. It's good that education and awareness start when they are little.

Phillip Law and Gavan McCarthy. This morning, Gavan McCarthy and I picked up two steel bins, lined with fire retardant insulation, in which Dr Phillip Law has kept his diaries and notebooks, written during his time as Director of the Australian Antarctic Division, documenting his many trips to Antarctica in setting up Australia's scientific research stations there. The diaries are going to the National Library of Australia, where much of his personal collection already resides. It was a momentous occasion for all of us. I have worked with Dr Law, on and off, on his collection since 1999.

Mit dem fing die Serie für mich an ... ;-)

The objective of the Fly-In on the 4th was to try to throw a streamer and have it land in 3 garbage bins set up on the field. There was a cash prize. Here, Paul Quandee is setting up for his attempt to get the streamer in the bin

This is Fanny, my ""adopted monkey". She was found in a garbagebin in Germany in 2004. She was three months old at the time and was wearing a diaper. She was temporarily placed in a rescuecenter in germany and now lives in a shelter in the Netherlands. With the help of a stuffed animal as a surogate mother and dedicated keepers, she has made great progress: she is healthy now and growing into quite a lady. The rescuecenter has an adoptionprogram and i`m very proud to be one of Fanny`s " adoptive parents".

The garbage bins have an extra compartment for cigarettes. This one emitted smoke at regular intervals. I don't know what makes it do so, certainly not just burning cigarette butts.
