On a rare snowy night, I took my camera and wandered around my town. I didn't aim for a garbage bag from the beginning.

There is a certain beauty to a garbage can. Who cares to stop and look at a garbage can and find beauty in it? Your's truly. I think it is because I saw so much ugliness, sewer in street even, so I get to appreciate proper sanitation and the accessibility. Alas, I come from the Middle East, where people plant bombs left and right and center. Every garbage can is a potential hazard in my subcouncious. A person is a product of his/her childhood's landscape. Such a true statement. I miss you guys. Yes, I am still drawing "Nitrogen (78%), Oxygen (21%), Argon (1%), Carbon-di-oxide (0.03%) and water vapour... also has some other gases but they are in very minute percentage." I wonder what the other gasses are, maybe it depends on where I am standing.
I realized that you are my support group, that writing is my therapy. Thanks for whoever checked on me. Sorry for not responding back. I've been and still under, but I am once again trying to resurface. I couldn't really write, I barely opened my laptop. Yeah, dark times indeed. It is getting worse, I can assure you that: "Hey Joe, pour some more Kerosene on the fire." lol. Such is my life, at any corner. There is a rumour circulating in the community, that I am cursed. lol. Might be. Someone put a hex against me. Wow. enemies. I must be doing something right. lol. You see? I do amuse myself when I write. But I love the allegory of drowning. Water. Tears. Which reminds me - from the Saturday Night Live, written by Jack Handey: "If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One, to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other, to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days, staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow, a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

Following my visit, Boorowa outsourced the garbage to existing recycling contractor Elouera Association, and the shown vehicle was sold off to the handler of Oberon kerbside garbage, but they’ve also finished with this truck. I was a little thrown off by the extra box section hanging off the hopper above the hydraulic oil tank, making me think it was a mono-valve design, but Cootamundra had split bins, so I wonder if this was somehow a hybrid split/dual bin set-up. Looking at these MJEs from the back, you’d easily mistake it for a standard side loader, little would you expect the extra tailgate doors and dividing body floor within.
The modernization of the lifestyle of city dwellers is accompanied by a significant increase in the volume of waste produced by families, just as it is becoming more challenging to dump it in empty spaces. The municipality has been setting up waste drop-off points for around twenty years, but they quickly become saturated. The voluntary sector has taken the initiative of setting up door-to-door collection systems, thus enabling people in highly vulnerable situations to have jobs, most of whom are women. Initially, the collection was done with donkey-driven carts but with the disadvantage of slow movement accentuated by the weight of the loads. Motorized tricycles imported from China have emerged as a solution and currently constitute the primary means of transport used with the advantage of their speed. Waste collection is also accompanied by establishing numerous recycling units that help recover waste (metal, plastic, plants, etc.).
La modernisation du mode de vie des citadins s'accompagne d'une augmentation significative du volume de déchets produits par les familles tout comme il devient plus difficile de les déverser dans les espaces vides. La municipalité a mis en place depuis une vingtaine d'années des points de dépôts des déchets mais ceux-ci sont très rapidement saturés. Le secteur associatif a pris l'initiative de mettre en place des systèmes de collecte de porte-à-porte permettant ainsi à des personnes en situation de forte vulnérabilité d'avoir un emploi parmi lesquelles une majorité de femmes. Dans un premier temps, la collecte se faisait avec des charrettes à traction asine mais avec l'inconvénient de la lenteur des déplacements accentués par le poids des chargements. L'es tricycles motorisés importés de Chine se sont imposés comme solution et constituent actuellement le principal moyen de transport utilisé avec l'avantage de sa rapidité. La collecte de déchets s'accompagne également par la mise en place de nombreuses unités de recyclage qui contribuent à valoriser les déchets (métal, plastique, végétaux...).
Seen here is one of CleanScapes' (now Recology's) rear loaders. The majority of the fleet is comprised of CCC McNeilus rear loaders which makes this one a little different. This truck was collecting commercial recycling on a Friday afternoon. Another interesting point about CleanScapes was the effort they put toward removing manufacturer brand from the truck. Notice the Autocar logo removed, and the Mcneilus name has been covered.
Shown is one of the dedicated 22m Bucher GenVs now used for weekly garbage collections in Parramatta. This truck is only 1 of 2 that have the purple themed domestic violence awareness livery on this side of the body - I’m not against the cause, but would prefer waste related signage on garbage trucks. Seeing the lifter sticking out you actually get a good look at how thin the new UG-6 grabbers are, love seeing the fresh look of a new RotaGrab too =]
