Schindler, Pennsylvania's adjutant general and head of DMVA, presented awards and proclamations as on of the first orders of business at the State Veterans Commission (SVC) meeting, April 8, at Fort Indiantown Gap. MG Schindler and SVC Chair Nick Taylor presented awards for meritorious service to Mr. Sam Petrovich, Mr. Keith Beebe, and Mr. John Cyprian and a certificate of appreciation was presented to Leonard M. Johnson. The Vietnam War Veterans Day 2022 Proclamation from the Governor proclaims March 29, 2022, as VIETNAM WAR VETERANS DAY. The Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017 permanently designates that every year March 29 will be celebrated as National Vietnam War Veterans Day. Mrs. Michelle Laird, a staunch advocate for airborne hazards and burn pit exposure was presented with an Airborne and Toxic Exposures Proclamation 2022. Her husband, Maj. Scott Laird, was a Pennsylvania National Guard soldier who died last year of cancer thought to be linked to burn pit exposure while being deployed in Iraq. Had a great day out with the camera (and wife) down at Beachyhead. First time down there since I was a kid. Had forgotten what a stunning place it is! Was blessed with sunshine and a bit of cloud cover which made for a stunning sunset later down at Birling Gap. Took the lead from a fellow photographer who was on a raised sandbank which let me snap away a bit longer as the tide came in and the cliffs soaked up the sunset. Thoroughly recommend it for anyone keen on their coastal pics (although would imagine it can get pretty crowded up on the cliffs when the weather's good),
Cumberland Gap, Tennessee is a scenic little town located to the north of Harrogate in a valley tucked into the Appalachian Mountains near the meeting point of three states.
The Cumberland Gap Historic District, which includes the majority of the small town, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
