I spotted this child's size hat when we reached Stevens Canyon Road. This, and a pair of children's sunglasses were all the "lost & found" items (not including discarded masks) I spotted along the trails today.

Mind the Gap is the day when we acknowledge the fact that tuition dollars “run out” and donors step up to fill the gap. We can explain:
Tuition only covers about 75% of the cost of students' education. Tuition could be $50,000 but because alumni, parents, foundations, and friends are helping fill the gap, students pay much less each year. Last year over 4,000 alumni made a gift to support students' education. These gifts help support every student, professor, program, and department on campus.
This special day celebrates the generous donors who give money to the College to help make students' education possible.

Delaware Water Gap, NJ/PA - A family trip to the east coast allowed some birding in various places. One was the Delaware Water Gap with many beautiful trails and waterfalls to explore along the Delaware River. Not a prime birding season, but being from the west I was still delighted with the eastern regulars.

Today's hike was up Ross Gap Trail, a spur that meets the Cumberland Trail at the summit. It is a long haul, very strenuous, straight up in places, up to the "dirt road" at the top.
Ross Gap, Bird Mountain Segment, is 7.9 miles long, but I only accomplished about 1.5 miles of it (one way). The trek down is almost as taxing, especially with snow and ice in places. Rocks and roots are another hazard!
One of my Christmas shoots, Nick's mom wanted to submit this to the Gap photo contest, but alas the deadline had past...
