A nice part open, part wooded trail from Saratoga Gap northward along Highway 35 (Skyline Drive). Pretty but noisy from traffic on the highway.

We opted not to go in, on account of having Ripley with us and not having a flashlight...and mostly because I'm terrified of caves.

Cut down the arm sync on right bottom armhole... fixed the gap a bit... will adjust pattern for the next make.

Taken on a day when standing up was an Olympic event at Burling Gap in East Sussex. The effort the canoeists had to put into battling through the waves was enormous. I like this one because the canoeist and paddles are not quite sharp as is the water bursting round him. It gives a sense of movement I think.

On this day, Skyline Drive was closed due to snow, so I parked my car at Rockfish Gap and started walking. I hiked along the AT over Scott Mountain and Bear Den Mountain to Beagle Gap. From there, I walked back to Rockfish Gap on Skyline Drive which, of course, was not plowed.

Beagle Gap Overlook isn't too far south of Beagle Gap along Skyline Drive. It is less than 0.5 mile (maybe 0.25).

FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. – The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and the Pennsylvania National Guard sponsored the 24th Annual Statewide Safety Awareness Day May 18, 2017. This year’s theme was “Be Smart from the Start” and featured presenters and displays of safety products and procedures to promote health, wellness and safety for DMVA employees, service members and families. Fire extinguisher training, forklift operating skills completion and driving simulators were new hands-on opportunities this year. Mind the Gap is the day when we acknowledge the fact that tuition dollars “run out” and donors step up to fill the gap. We can explain:

Tuition only covers about 75% of the cost of students' education. Tuition could be $50,000 but because alumni, parents, foundations, and friends are helping fill the gap, students pay much less each year. Last year over 4,000 alumni made a gift to support students' education. These gifts help support every student, professor, program, and department on campus.

This special day celebrates the generous donors who give money to the College to help make students' education possible.
