Birling Gap, near Eastbourne in East Sussex, are part of the world famous Seven Sisters chalk cliffs, one of the longest stretches of undeveloped coastline on the south coast. This view shows the cliffs looking east towards the seven sisters.
Arriva North East's Jesmond-based VDL SB200/Wright Pulsar 2 1499 (NK12 FLL), which carries Arriva's generic livery, is pictured here at Quicksilver Way, Newcastle upon Tyne, whilst working service X9 to Newcastle. 13/10/14
Arriva's X9 service also operates during peak times to provide express services between Newcastle and Cobalt Business Park. Arriva operates five journeys per day, with each bus tending to carry fewer passenger numbers than Go North East's competing X39 service. I'd imagine the gap between overall passenger numbers on these two services aren't massively different, though Go North East probably takes the lead - which is probably due to the fact they operate daytime 309 services through Cobalt Business Park every 15 minutes, as well as other services too.
Taken at the Sally Gap looking towards the Coronation Plantation and Sorrel Hill in the far distance. Despite the sunny appearance this was cold....very cold.

Taken on the first day of 2015 at around 7am. We tried to photograph from the lookout but could see no further than the cliffs edge. So this is the car park entry instead.
Odio stare tutti ammassati.
La mattina odio tutti.
More gorges, gaps and chasms.
For those interested, no need to comment.
Swimming hole just out of Alice.
Emily Gap, East MacDonnell Ranges National Park, Alice Springs, Northern Territory
is one of the gaps in the West MacDonnell Ranges in Australia's Northern Territory. It is located 18 kilometres west from Alice Springs
I've taken hundreds of photographs of Sycamore Gap in the 14 years I've lived here, thought I'd try an abstract version.
Gap Filler is a creative urban regeneration initiative started in response to the September 4, 2010 Canterbury earthquake, and revised and expanded in light of the more destructive February 22, 2011 quake. It is now administered by the Gap Filler Charitable Trust.
Gap Filler aims to temporarily activate vacant sites within Christchurch with creative projects, to make for a more interesting, dynamic and vibrant city.
With that in mind Gap filler I believe has created three sites filled with a stage area, seating and a piano. This one is at the Junction of Bower Ave and Marine Parade on the site of the demolished TJs Kazbah and opposite the now demolished Ozone.
They have really brightened the corner up and we just need a few people to gather and have a nice night of it.

UP ZNPOA-28 glides down hill at Emigrant Gap on the famed Donner Pass. Much of the Eisenhower Freeway to the left parallels this rail corridor into Chicago. The Overland Route its called, cars, trucks, buses and railroads use it alike. Amazing the contrast in 150 years of engineering. Many years the highway and the pass is closed to automobile traffic while only a handful of times the railroad has come to a halt in 150+ years.
Mother Nature hasn't won the war yet...and the railroad has won many a battles. This train with another northern leader proudly pilots this train downhill - SP style!
This was taken from a small churchyard on the side of a hill overlooking the entrance to Adney Gap in Franklin County Virginia. This area is home to many dairy and beef ranches with corn being farmed by most. There are also many old and abandoned homesteads in the area. Some are completely abandoned and open to the wild while some are used as storage buildings by their owners.
Compositionally Challenged yellow.
The most common phrase seen & heard on the London Underground. I don't usually notice it - but was just in time to get a photo of the platform before the train left.
The "gaps" are a problem in some places - platforms & trains are sometimes at different heights, & I dread the stations with curved platforms where there can be a huge gap to step across.
