WEEK 20 – Closing the Gap (VI)
Finally for today (and, save one additional photo set to upload next week, for this album), one last look at the store's exterior facade, as viewed from the parking lot directly out in front of the building. I quite like the way the light falls in this pic... looks as if the sun, in addition to figuratively, was literally setting on the Southaven Gap FactoryStore.
As I mentioned at the start of this album, not all is lost here, for there is another Gap FactoryStore still in operation just down the road at Tanger Outlets. But I definitely liked this store's location, selection, atmosphere, and crowds better... so it will be missed.
NEXT WEEK – officially kicking off summer 2018 uploads! But in advance of that, be sure to stay tuned for tomorrow as well: the Target Sunday Summer Spectacular will be celebrating its own 2018 kickoff...

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)

The new Indian census(2011), which put the population at 1.2 billion, has revealed an alarming trend. Rising incomes only seem to accelerate gendercide – the evocative term for the selective abortion of girl foetuses. There were 945 girls per 1,000 boys in the 1991 census, 927 in 2001 and now 914. It's now a crisis and we need to move beyond just acknowledging the issue. The PC & PNDT Act 1994 prohibits any form of sex-determination practise and sex-selective abortion.
According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) of India; 89,546 cases of cruelty by husband and relatives; 21,397 cases of rape; 11,009 cases of sexual harassment and 5,650 cases of dowry harassment were reported in India during the year 2009.

It looked as if yesterday's sunset was going to be pretty spectacular, so I wandered off to Sandy Gap on Walney to bag a few shots; it didn't turn out to be as majestic as I'd hoped, but I snapped away regardless - this is arguably the best of a fairly average bunch - enjoy anyway!
There's a gap in that natural fence, and it isn't there just because - there's a cat there, and I know well, cats aren't something to carelessly play with. :D Mid-March 2017.

Minimizing gaps is a huge challenge when building a ship with so many non standard angles connecting to each other. I think I did a good job here where the nose meets the side panels... and where the side panels sit over the closed wings...
Santa doesn't need Rudolph to guide him onto this lofty gap backside 5-0 deep in the Edmonton ravine.
I’ve finished applying the conductive tape & electrical wires to these crossovers. I left a gap in the middle to allow for current isolation between the two lines.
I’m contemplating on doing another pair of singles w/o isolation, or at least one double crossover.

Gap Filler is a creative urban regeneration initiative started in response to the September 4, 2010 Canterbury earthquake, and revised and expanded in light of the more destructive February 22, 2011 quake. It is now administered by the Gap Filler Charitable Trust.
Gap Filler aims to temporarily activate vacant sites within Christchurch with creative projects, to make for a more interesting, dynamic and vibrant city.
With that in mind Gap filler I believe has created three sites filled with a stage area, seating and a piano. This one is at the Junction of Bower Ave and Marine Parade on the site of the demolished TJs Kazbah and opposite the now demolished Ozone.
They have really brightened the corner up and we just need a few people to gather and have a nice night of it.

is one of the gaps in the West MacDonnell Ranges in Australia's Northern Territory. It is located 18 kilometres west from Alice Springs
Taken on the first day of 2015 at around 7am. We tried to photograph from the lookout but could see no further than the cliffs edge. So this is the car park entry instead.
This is a simple box camera, manufactured in France c1947. The GAP was made in several versions, this example being for 6x9cm exposures on 120 rollfilm, and with an octagonal faceplate.
The name GAP comes from the initials of the maker, George Paris.
More gorges, gaps and chasms.
For those interested, no need to comment.
