The same hydrographic survey ship we saw last year from Takeshiba Pier was tied-up alongside this year. In some ways it's nice to see the same shot again for a second year in a row. Plus I can see a quality change from the D300.

Justin and I went ended up in the same place for this year's first sunrise as we were in for last year's. Wasn't entirely meant to pan-out like that, but the nearby place we wanted to be at was full of people.
A few more of Japanorama's photography students turned up. The brave ones! Thanks Charles, Rishi, Justin and Kane for coming out. It was a fun morning.
As the new century began in 1900, Mayor Sam Brashier bought the Kellem-Noble land and house on the edge of town to create Sam Houston Park –the city's first. By 1910 it had been landscaped into a Victorian delight with an old mill, a stream, a rustic bridge, and paths. Sam Houston Park has been the home of The Heritage Society since 1954

Originally built as skating rink with restaurant in 1970’s. Lower bowl, Hart Plaza, Detroit, Michigan USA
I just returned home from an epic family weekend, camping alongside a beautiful lake with good friends. It was the perfect spot to celebrate Father's Day with my wife and kids, and this was one of the vistas we had from our camp site.
Technical Stuff: This is a bracketed 9-exposure image, merged into HDR and then converted to monochrome with red filter in Nik SilverEfex.
