Off in the distance you can see the sacred island of Kaho'olawe. Sadly, for years the U.S. military used the island to practice bomb raids with very real, live explosives. The island has since been returned to the Hawaiian people and heals and gets stronger everyday.

Returning to Sofia after shooting some megaliths, stopped to capture beautiful sunset with road leading to airplanes
The memorial guide kept telling visitors what I already knew, it's a good day to climb up to the Garfield Monument balcony for a view of the city. With winds from the north on a cool day, there was no haze to obscure the view. The sun peeked through the clouds from time to time and I didn't have long to wait for the Frank Gehry building to flare up like a mirror in the sun.
