41 yards, really thick and fluffy corespun, over 2 oz. Fibers include wool, alpaca, mohair, angora, llama, silk, angelina, acrylic, bamboo, cotton, etc.
The little melons arrive like this—all fuzzy (which is really only a polite way of saying "very hairy"). Sadly, some critter got to and destroyed the vine, and we only harvested one (sweet) melon. Alas! Next year I'll do better. I don't use pesticides and am not sure what it was that got this, but I'll have all winter to study up. It was fun while it lasted. :)
My camera skills will need some improvement, but I just had to show off this mini-clip of a fuzzy caterpillar. It was crossing the path in front of me at an amazing speed! (this was filmed last year btw)
