My after work/before remodel work shot of the day is another of a bee on the hydrangeas. Same subject as yesterday, but a very different photo. I thought he looked like he was sitting up in the clouds.

These looked so interesting!!

Whilst driving along the road, I was rather surprised to see a fuzzy grey beastie strolling around in the verge. On a quick inspection, it turned out to be a badger! Smaller than one would imagine given nature documentaries, but no less gorgeous for it.

So I stopped and strolled back with the 75-300mm lens attached and got this...

Macro Monday: #PickTwo

Fuzzy Toy, size of the frame: 5 x 5 cm / 1,9 x 1,9 inches

National Hugging Day, January 21st. (thank you for mentioning it, Rolf Piepenbring!)

Small, handmade felt dog (length from nose tip to tail: 6,8 cm / 2,6 inches; height from tail to paw: 7 cm / 2,7 inches). I found it at our self-organised Christmas market, and I think I was lucky that it had not been sold earlier. The moment I saw this cute yellow Akita I fell in love with it :-) The vendor said that, among all the other cute little, but rather conventionally coloured felt animals on offer, this yellow, fluffy toy dog had already attracted quite considerable interest (and the market had just opened when I was there). He was surprised at it, I wasn't. All the small felt animals came with a small loop attached either to their heads or backs so you can hang them on a Christmas tree, plant, door ... but I keep Yellow Dog on my desk.

Captured using the in-camera focus-stacking function. I'd have loved to use natural sunlight (the sun actually showed up!) to backlight Yellow Dog and to bring out all the felty-fuzzy-wooly (and very soft!) glorious fuzziness of Yellow Dog, but I also wanted a blue background. I tried with blue transparent paper, but it didn't work that well at all; without the transparent paper, however, the background was half table, half wall. So in the end I used the non-glittering side of a blue glitter foam sheet, put Yellow Dog on a box (and the camera, too, to match the height - piling boxes again!), and clumsily hid an LED lamp behind the box to achieve the glowing backlight effect, while I also lit Yellow Dog from the left and right so you can see his cute face. Improvised, as usual, but I'm happy with the result. I hope you like it, too :-)

HMM, Everyone, and have a great week ahead!

Macro Time for this Red and Orange Fuzzy Lily.

I apologize for the upload overload.

Reason # 1: It's 12 pm and I've been awake for well over 24 hours, yet for some reason I'd rather fight the fatigue to hang out online waiting for something exciting to happen.

Reason # 2: I have a great lovely new camera and I promised myself to take photos of EVERYTHING. I've missed this photography thing. I've neglected my cameras over the past 12 months!

And now, I shall grace you with a photo of... fuzzy sticks. I really think I need to go to bed.

Not sure what sort of little guy this is but I think he is one of several kinds of tent caterpillars. Their tents are all over the place.

got these and we weren't sure how they would look all lit up-- pretty cool, eh?
