Some of you may recall the bravado with which I boasted that I could turn out ten of these in an evening. Heh...you know, I still think I could do ten of the circuit boards, but wiring it all together and jamming it all neatly in a pedal enclosure is another thing entirely.
Admittedly, a lot of today has been spent trying to make sure I understood exactly how to add a 3PDT footswitch, LED and DC jack to this without ruining it somehow. I had nothing like that going with the testbed. No way to bypass the circuit or anything. So, uh...yeah...I may actually finish this tomorrow. Lotta good experience and things learned today, but it took longer than expected to make my thinky parts get all thinky. And of course, I wasn't exactly putting in an efficient work day, either. I did a lot of screwing off today while I was figuring things out.
I think I've mentioned before that a friend took me on a tour of Mesa/Boogie's plant in Petaluma once and they had a line of Asian women with tiny hands doing their soldering. More and more, I'm coming to regard that as a really smart move on Randall Smith's part!

I took these pictures out of spite, but I like how they turned out.

I'm still really liking this camera--and this kitty!
Fuzz rules this neighborhood. Sometimes she takes off for days and I picture her out there scaring off the wild cougars that everyone has been spotting around here.

Our walk around Bartolame Island brought us to many nesting birds. Mostly we saw frigatebirds, the blue-footed Boodies, some land iguanas and the swallow-tail gulls.
"Frigatebirds are large, dark seabirds with very long, pointed wings which are held forward from the shoulder in flight. They have deeply forked tails and short legs with webbed feet. Their bills are long and hook-tipped. Frigatebirds soar high over the sea and feed by harassing and kleptoparasiting other seabirds, particularly boobies, or by picking food from the surface of the sea. However, they never land on water as they lack the oil-secreting gland which keeps the feathers of seabirds dry. The male, female and immature plumages are distinctly different and breeding males have a bright red gular pouch which is inflated during display." --- www.quasarex.com
