DIY fuzz face guitar pedal project, documented from arrival of components to final result, including some screenshots from simlating the circuit.
moments after taking this from the roof of my car, i was taking a pee on the palm tree pictured while josh was, um, rolling leaves in a fine paper product.
mid-stream, the lights went off and i saw two employees heading for the door, so i turned to my passenger and announced, "looks like we've got company." with my back to josh and my car, i obviously had no way of knowing a cop car had pulled into the lot.
given that it was a) 2 in the morning; and b) quartzsite, arizona (josh and i consider this trailer park mecca just east of the colorado river to be the butt of every joke involving the drive between LA and phoenix/tucson), we were the only people in sight.
the fuzz stopped next to our car, josh having quickly "hidden" the medicinals in the exotic rock garden in front of the restaurant. i turned around, fly down and half-eaten hamburger in one hand.
they asked "everything alright?" i nonchalantly told them "fantastic. on our way to phoenix." they told us to take care, and that was that.
i suppose things could have gone far worse. on the other hand, i'm now reasonably sure one might be able to get away with murder in quartzsite, as their police department might actually benefit from hiring david caruso.
Mystery Fuzz Bug. What the heck is this thang?? Finally found out today 6-23-2015! A friend showed it on Facebook! "puss caterpillar," or Megalopyge opercularis
It's a fat, furry caterpillar that is popping up in trees across Florida, and it's known as the "puss caterpillar," or Megalopyge opercularis.
But whatever you do, do not touch this bug. Stay away from it, scientists say.
Its fur is actually covered in venom. Doctors from the University of Florida say the second you touch this caterpillar you feel instant, intense pain.
The pain is worse than a bee, jellyfish, or scorpion, and it can also cause vomiting and convulsions.
Doctors say be aware of them while working outdoors because they are known to fall out of trees.

Went to a screening of Hot Fuzz at the Armand Hammer Museum in Westwood with Rick. Awesome movie, and they are just as funny in person. Everyone go see it.
Hebrew Hammer made his team run the bases and slide into home to get them over their reluctance to playing in the mud.

Zvex Fuzz Probe, got my the Vexter series because I'm a raging hobo (and I couldn't find many in the UK... ooh also I wanted the LED to tell if it's turned on and the funny port for the PSA 230es adaptor).
Squeally squeals and such. Don't think I'm going to have any built in fuzz factory guitars... just doesn't make sense man... just doesn't make sense.
But yeah, can play Plug in baby and a host of other fuzz related tunes. Pick up a bag today
