Our favourite theatre company, Kneehigh, put on several great shows each summer in their performance tent, lovingly called the Asylum. It is pitched at the Lost Gardens of Heligan and we go every year... This time we camped at a site a few minutes walk away....bliss!
With this collection we've tried to capture the atmosphere of a highlight of our summer. We saw the show "FUP" which tells the story of an orphan duck who is adopted by a dysfunctional family... All told with Kneehigh's amazing puppetry, live music and exuberance. Recommended!

Go North East's Percy Main-based "DFDS Seaways" branded Dennis Trident/East Lancs Lolyne 3867 (524 FUP) is pictured here at Gateshead Transport Interchange, Gateshead, whilst making a rare appearance on "Coaster" service 1 to Wrekenton. 05/11/14
As part of a campaign to re-launch the "DFDS Seaways" brand, all four "DFDS Seaways" branded vehicles have undergone a repaint, with each example carrying a different colour above the windows of the vehicle. This vehicle has was repainted last month, receiving a white and blue variation of the livery with the tagline "World's Leading Ferry Operator". In addition, this vehicle has also had its seats reupholstered, and has been treated to a 'deep clean' by Thorntons Bros. of Ashington.
This vehicle was previously registered as W177SCU; however, a number of older branded double deckers gained private cherished registration plates in September, including all four of the "DFDS Seaways" branded vehicles, "Red Arrows" branded 3943, and "Angel" branded 3962/65. Private registration plate 524FUP was most recently held by now withdrawn and sold "National Express" branded Volvo B12M/Plaxton Paragon 7088.

Go North East 8294 NK09 FUP, a 2009 Optare Versa V1110, was seen at Milburngate after completing a 6 from Bishop Auckland on the 20/7/21. Go North East also had duties on the 7 between Darlington & Durham whilst helping out with Arriva driver shortages.

Fm36 - MX14 FUP. Ferrymill Motors (Stagecoach Strathtay) ADL Enviro200 spotted on Crichton Street running the 39 to Arbroath Warddykes.
This bus going to the Safeway store is former First Cymru 42631, R131 FUP, a Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Dart SLF. New in 1997 to York Pullman, it transferred to First in 2000.

This vehicle was new in March 2014 to Ferryhill Motors of Glasgow, and was on loan to Stagecoach Manchester on the day this shot was taken.
Reliance Motor Services of Newbury was a family-owned independent bus company that built a big reputation for its operations in Berkshire from 1917 until 1985. To quote the flyer for a recent book about the company: “George Hedges came back from World War I to become a horse-drawn carrier but with ambitions to motorise his business. With his family taking the wheel in the 1950s and beyond, Reliance extended its reach nationwide and even internationally. The small village where it all started, Brightwalton, woke in the mornings to the cough of diesel engines from both Reliance buses and a relative’s lorries. When both businesses departed, the village lost many of its jobs, its two pubs and very nearly its school”. This Bedford SB carried a County Durham registration but its original owner is unknown (21-Nov-20)
