Venice sunset on Rialto bridge
Our first day in Venice, an impressive sunset in one of the most visited places at sunset, the Rialto bridge. This bridge is the oldest of the four that cross the Grand Canal. It was built in 1181 and was called El Ponte della Moneta. The fluvial traffic increased due to the market that is in the vicinity of this bridge.

Go North East's Washington-based "Red Arrows" branded Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 6049 (NK12 GDA) is pictured here at Saltmeadows Road Depot, Gateshead, following repaint and the application of the new "Red Arrows" branding. 11/10/16
Repaints of the "Red Arrows" branded Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B9TLs commenced in November 2015. Due to other projects involving these vehicles taking priority, the repainting and minor re-branding project for these vehicles was postponed.
This vehicle is the latest to receive the new branding, and the final vehicle yet to be repainted, Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 6050 (NK12 GDE), is scheduled to go to Saltmeadows Road Depot for repaint and branding this weekend.
Dennis Trident/East Lancs Lolyne 3867 (W177 SCU) is pictured alongside 6049 (NK12 GDA) above - the former has recently gained its original registration of W177 SCU prior to its upcoming withdrawal, having previously carried cherished registration mark 524 FUP.
It gained registration 524 FUP in September 2014, when a number of older branded double deckers have gained private cherished registration plates; including all four of the "DFDS Seaways" branded vehicles (in line with a campaign to re-launch the "DFDS Seaways" brand which saw all four vehicles undergo repaint and seats re-trimmed), "Red Arrows" branded Volvo B7TL 3943, and "Angel" branded Volvo B7TLs 3962/65.
3867 (W177 SCU) is currently at Saltmeadows Road undergoing internal modifications prior to disposal - the extended luggage bays are being removed from this vehicle and placed into Scania N94UD/East Lancs OmniDekka 6144 (YN05 GZL), which has recently been acquired from sister operating company Brighton & Hove. Once prepared for service, it will be allocated to Percy Main Depot, for use on the "DFDS Seaways" 327 service.

Looking for a corner for the sunset I found this simple frame, the sun still quite high offered a soft and warm tones, I walked among the lavenders and finally I lay down on the stony ground.

It dawned like the previous days, foggy, rain, wet ... but since three months ago we were waiting for the day when the sun would align at dawn with the monolith Des Pae des Camp. So, we took umbrellas and went to the shore from the beach twere the little Aigues Blanques is accessed through a hole in the cliff, place from which we should have made the shot ... but the storm prevented us to access to the beach and we had to photograph it from the top of the cliff ... under the umbrella because although the sun emerged on the horizon, where we were under the heavy rain.

Usually the shots of this beach I do from the shore, but from the top of the stairs the colors of the last lights were so soft that I could not resist making a photo that showed the whole of the beach and the iconic Roque de Benijo.

Go North East's Washington-based "South Tyne" branded Optare Versa V1110/Optare 8294 (NK09 FUP) is pictured here whilst on loan to Deptford Depot, at Park Lane Interchange, Sunderland, making an extraordinarily rare appearance on "Drifter" service 60 to Parkside. 17/11/15
Washington Depot provided this vehicle as a replacement for "SimpliCity" branded 8322 (NK11 FXE) earlier in the day, which incurred a mechanical defect whilst operating "SimpliCity" service 2. Instead of this vehicle being replaced by Deptford Depot later in the evening when more spare vehicles became available, the vehicle was left out in service all night, additionally seeing allocation to "Drifter" service 60, which "SimpliCity" service 2 interworks with on a night.
