The train that was powered by an EV3 motor, didn't have enough traction to run smoothly. Therefore, I tried a completely other idea.
The version on the photo is driven by two Lego Power Functions Train Motors (88002) and a rechargeable battery pack 8878. The battery pack power control dial is connected to an EV3 medium motor. By this means, the EV3 is able to control the speed. The traction is now much better and the train runs really smooth.

Activities such as grazing, road encroachment, upstream channelization, augmented flows, flow regulations, oil field water discharge, illegal leaks and spills ect. could all have an impact on these systems. The PFC assessment is used as a way to best manage the impairment. In some cases, we will build erosion control structures, plant woody vegetation, spray for unwanted vegetation like salt cedar. This is using Power Functions Pulse Width Modulated output to control Lego 9 Volt Trains on two Track Circuits with a normal PF Battery pack.
You need two 9 Volt to PF converter cables to achive this.
With this you get better Train Control and a lot more pulling power due to the Pulse Width Modulated output from the PF IR Reciever as against the varriable voltage output of the 9 Volt Controller.
