Things get wonderfully weird the smaller you go. Setup used.
Two dollars. These self charging, auto illuminating garden lamps are pretty damn cool for two bucks. I don't buy expensive toys if they dont fulfill a need or function (Yes, I do by expensive toys from time to time). One of the most important tools for me is my little nikon remote. The little flat piece of plastic has carried me through most of my 365 photos. I think it costs about 8 bucks. All it took was 8 dollars to get me out from behind the camera to in front of it. Think about all the garage we buy as a society that serves no real function that a cheaper counterpart couldn't perform for just the same.
Now, that's not to say go all out cheap, but you have balance value and function. I buy 10 dollar shirts, wear 30 dollar jeans, but I'll sell all my toys for a full frame camera. It's about learning what you can spend to get the function you need.
Eight dollar camera remote. Get it. Use it. And it'll change the way you shoot forever.
This is my guitar in my room. First I had to rotate the picture so that it was nearly parallel with the x-axis, this was to make it easier to graph. I saw trigonometry when I saw this picture. So I decided to plot a sine curve with a few adjustments. The equation I used was g(x)=((-.725/2)x+1)sin(.8x-.2)+.15). This was a difficult task, but I feel it fits this guitar the best that it can. The (-.725/2)x+1) part of this equation is of the formula y=mx+b which is the line that best fits this model. -.725/2 being the slope and 1 being the y-intercept. Then there is the sine curve, the .8x is the width of one period of the sine curve and -.2 is the right shift of the graph while the .15 in the vertical shift upwards.
The wood stove in the lighthouse keeper's home was working. The guide had made a potatoes and onion dish for his lunch; and then cornbread to share with visitors. Have never seen one of these operating before.
When I was reviewing my images of my day out at Winchester I noticed that, while doing the interior shots in Winchester Cathedral, I noticed that the images had a slight red cast to them. I had left the custom setting to Portrait Mode. So I decided to do a test on a brick wall. I used three settings for the test: Bright, Natural and Portrait Modes.
BRIGHT according to the Operating Manual is the default setting, where saturation, hue and contrast are set relatively high to create a bright sharp image. This is definitely apparent in the image.
A chunk of street furniture does its best impression of a sculpture. Weathered paint, industrial weight, and just enough geometry to make you pause. Function meets found abstraction.
Really handy to have a macro function available on a mid range zoom. The lens isn't stabilized but I couldn't care less. Neither is the 24-70 G (which I own) and it's absolutely stellar.
