I love this shot too. It has all the elements of a good day at the jetty. Plus the timing of the surfer riding and the surfers walking by worked out perfectly. And the angles are interesting and lead the eye nicely. Stoked!
Some sort of defunct business -- looks to me like it used to be an arcade or something, but who knows? -- inside the Market Village mall at Steeles and Kennedy.

Sidewalks and street corners are the stage at BeachStreetUSA. Musicians and novelty acts perform along Atlantic Avenue, the “Main Street” of the Virginia Beach Resort. From 7:30pm-11:00pm an 8-block corridor transforms into a magical world of its own that is part circus, outdoor music festival, and family fun zone.
Shows are presented on weekends beginning Memorial Day weekend and transitions into nightly entertainment June 19. The program ends before Labor Day weekend.
Performers from all over the US and Canada join us each year for this paid opportunity to entertain visitors at the Mid-Atlantic’s premier vacation resort!

The Pike, in Long Beach is nothing like it used to be. Removed to the East but remaining until July 2010 from the original was the roof of the Looff, the carousel that graced the entrance nearby the Cyclone Racer roller coaster, was in temporary storage where once was Eddie's diner. South of Ocean Blvd. marked the Eastern beginning of "The Pike" The 'Fun Zone' continued East and West from where the telephone pole stands past snack shops, shooting galleries, dark rides, souvenir photographers, more penny arcades, and many shops of souvenir trinkets and clothing - even bikinis. Just barely visible in the sky on the left is the arc of the Ferris Wheel on what today is called The Pike.
