La fumée que l'on voit n'est pas due au freinage du TGV .Une tradition chez le personnel roulant de la SNCF veut qu'on pose des pétards sur les rails pour le dernier train du futur retraité. Ici en gare de Nîmes.

Les flammes vues de près (enfin plutôt vues au téléojectif), en Californie près de Sequoia park. On a comme une impression de fin du monde en regardant les masses de fumée s’avancer sur la plaine de Californie du nord. Mes pensées vont aux personnes qui ont été affectées et aux soldats du feu qui se sont battus pour protéger les habitations. Au détour d’une conversation, je me suis rendu compte qu’on a maintenant manqué un été complet sur Terre. C’est un drôle de sentiment. Je n’ai pas de photo de vacances dans mon téléphone à vous montrer, mais voici quelques images marquantes de cet été que je n’avais pas encore partagées, principalement des plages sur les côtes de la France continentale et des îles méditerranéennes Impossible de parler de l’été sans repenser aux gigantesques incendies qui ont à nouveau embrasé la Terre, eux aussi sont particulièrement visibles depuis l’espace.
The flames seen up close (with a teleconverter) in California, near Sequoia park. It looks very apocalyptic. My thoughts go out to all the people and homes affected, and the firemen who are battling the fires. We were chatting this week and we realised that we have missed a whole summer on Earth now. It is somewhat a weird feeling (I will get two winters in a row…). We don't have a mobile phone up here that collects the memories and highlights them using an algorithm, but I did some thinking and collected my own most striking summer pictures from the last few months, so mainly beaches along the three coasts of France and Mediterranean islands 😊. It seems nowadays that every summer comes with wild fires, and in between the beaches, glinting seas and clear skies the fires we saw from above will stay in my mind too.
