💜 This New Year’s Eve was one of the most inspiring nights of my life. 💜 Maybe next year I will have a date! ❤️ 😘

Well, this is the picture I showed our lead singer tonight. He said, “hell it’s about time!” “J” said his wife has had a huge hunch since our 2015 Panama City Memorial Day shows. (And he always says I look like a chick when my hair is down. WTH!! So far only “J” and his wife have been told tonight and life goes on.

BTW: I was so nervous about coming out tonight that I bought a nice human hair topper to blend with my natural hair. Getting there! ☮️💜

I finished college in 1981 and had my first fulltime job. I taught as an elementary school teacher in Kuwait that fall. I went with a classmate from home and new friends who were new hires too. It was the first time we'd been overseas. The world seems like a much different place.

These images are rough due to the age of the photographs. Over time, I may do a bit of editing on these.

While setting up a new laptop I found this reprise from a trip in 2021. I found a lot more pictures, so I’ll try to hold back from posting too many oldies. ☮️💜

Cracker Barrel breakfast, alone. ☮️💜

Last week’s risky morning outside of our client’s wedding venue.

Two Christmas Eve posts:

The morning started with a lot of red hair falling off my head at the park. This was me still laughing as I threw it all back together. 😂

Hello shopping guy who followed me to the make up section from the women’s department. The optimist in me wanted to start up a conversation. If you see me out, please say hello. 😘💜☮️

Don’t mind me park walkers. I’m just a girl with a selfie stick admiring her new dress.

I am not sue why I didn’t post this a while ago. For some reason I can’t wait to get home and go shopping for some cute shorter styles. Definitely a girl thing. ☮️

Eighteen month ago I made the best decision of my life. I stopped my longlife suffering from gender dysphoria and started to be me, a woman. Fifteen months I am now living fulltime as woman, the best time I have ever had in my life.

Until today the transition was a hard way, specially the fight with the german healthcare system and german jurisdiction. However the best gift for me at the end of 2020 was that I am now official legal Awena, a woman. And in 2021 the exciting transition journey proceeds with further little steps.

Now I am 56, celebrate my first birthday as woman Awena. And my feelings and all the best wishes, your support since I started on flickr are overwhelming me. Thank you all so very much.

Have a nice week and stay healthy.

Awena 💋💋

Somebody just had her first job interview… It’s me, it’s me!!! I could not close the first manager so I am working my backup plan. I made two application copies and dropping them off today at two other locations. My idea is maybe the Cato district manager would hire me as an on call temp for her territory. I truly can’t commit to more the 2-3 days a month so we’ll see. By the way, I’m a trans girl trying to work in a women’s retail clothing store. Imagine that hurdle! Sending so much Love to us all! Let’s bring LOVE Back; right? ☮️💜

hoping one day I will live my life like this fulltime

Done with the errands so it is time for new dresses and tops!

I took one of my favorite dresses for a stroll this morning. This weekend I was “closet shopping” to find something nice for Easter. I would love a pretty pastel dress but regretfully I didn’t plan far enough in advance. ☮️❤️😷

Very quick shot !

Yay ! I'm still alive ! I'm just student in fulltime this year in a polytechnic >o<

Art running red - ctb,

Flickr, it's August 13th 2009.. And my friend Jen and I stayed up till 6:00AM in the morning. Do not understand why we did, but we did. AND WE GOT TO EXPERIANCE A DEADLY WICKED THUNDERSTORM. Surprise i'm looking out the window to see a beautiful day today. I told you that i'd come back to write, so I decided to start writing now. I'm in love with this. It's actually one of my top 5 favorites in my stream. If you have an eye for this one also, THANK YOU. And yes, if you are asking.. it is PS paint. I couldn't possibly be messing around paint at 10:00PM at night.. doesn't go to well with me. Other news! I'm going to the States with Jen on August 28th for new school clothes and shopping, i'm pretty excited about that. Which it sucks because I have no job, so i've stuck to babysitting and helping out my grandpa with yard work. ONE-TWO-THREE WEEEE! Well, I have nothing really else to say. I'll catch up more with you guys later! Here are some fun facts!

FACT #1: I got 5 hours of sleep last night

FACT #2: I'm babysitting a dog for my parents friends, her name is Sierra

FACT #2: I want a peircing, monroe (but near my bottom lip)

FACT #3: I love my family/friends

FACT #4: I would love my future to have either music or photography in it (fulltime)

FACT #5: I'll give you more facts later

Love,

Chantel

I’m just saying…when woman puts on a lot of eye liner and lipstick, she ain’t trying to impress any ladies! 😂

BTW - if anybody is interested in photo composition, I am happy to share. Aside from a few Sony mirrorless captures on tripods, almost all of my pictures have been taken with iPhones and selfie sticks. Last year I upgraded to an iPhone 13 and am a member in a few Facebook iPhone groups to learn more about phone photography.

In front of me is a massive tree planter with two huge spot lights. I actually moved both lights to “bounce” off the trunk to enhance the eyes and complexion. You may note the rear “hair lights” are not perfect, but they do provide a decent amount of halo and subject separation. A better scenario would have been to put something in front of the bottom left rear-light to blank it from distracting the scene.

Trans girls and selfies sticks..WTH is going on out here!!! Submitted with love, Steph. ☮️💜

Almost C’s…the girls need just a little more push. 😂

Running errands and stopping by two Cato locations to follow up on part-time job application status. ☮️💜

Still hovering around Macy’s looking for my first New Years Eve dress. I am open to any style or color as long as it is comfortable and has a touch of sass. 👗

Picked up this new hair topper and can’t wait to have Michele trim it to blend with my natural hair.

Part of yesterday’s risky morning included pushing a shopping cart through contractor-filled Home Depot. I was shopping for lighting decor and definitely experienced a healthy dose of fear. I’ll give myself a 75% grade with respect to fear conquering and a 100% for Trans-Girling.

Peace, Love, and Distance

Rainy shopping Sunday.

*** Don't have to fav/comment.. u can ask qs here tho & i will try to put them up here b4 next post ***

"Not another shameless wanky post from this bugger! Move on & stop showing off!" Well, that's precisely what i was thinking when i'm about to post this shot. Seriously I PROMISEI will not post this type of self-indulge promotional shot ever again unless its something you guys can benefit from. This is most probably my 5th or 6th mag publications to date so THIS IS IT (for shameless post) as Michael Jackson said :)) Quite a no of ppl have asked me qs relating to my photostream, publications etc all along therefore i thought this is the best time to consolidate similar FAQs & answer them here. Hope u can gain something out of them. cheers!

:: FAQs ::

Q. How do I get my photos published in a magazine?

A. Well, its hard to say ...luck plays a part i suppose.. esp for journalists to spot your work out of millions. One thing i know for sure is correctly tagging your photos helps in contributing to the success of others finding your shots. All my published photos were found by editors of the publishing/magazine company through Google, Yahoo search engines & Flickr. Another possible factor is perhaps being known for the sort of photography style u do helps a fair bit too. For instance, if you are into IR photography & your entire photostream is full of IR style images, very high chance when someone is lookin' for IR publication, you will be the outstanding one.

Q. How did I achieve so much attention in flickr?

A. Pretty much the same theory as above... I reckon for me, specialising in just hdr helps bring everyone who has the same interest to my photostream. Perhaps versatility in subject tend to catch ppl's attention too. One definite fact is you should have determination to keep doing what u love & passionate about (it could be flower, macro, seascape, bokeh, BW, night photography, digital manipulation etc..) just pursue this interest be it what others might have said about your images or even negative comments to bring u down along the way (Trust me.. i get those %^$ comments esp when i just started hdr.. even now!). Believe in yourself & others will eventually believe in you & your work ;) go out & make friends in flickr...what goes around comes around.

Q. Am I paid to have your photo published?

A. About 75% of my published photos were paid. Some companies asked for quote before using my photos but usually the publishers seek for publication permission before making an offer. The remaining 25% (non-profit co) either gave me full credit in print with link to my flickr website & free copies of their magazines.

Q. How much do the publishing companies pay usually?

A. I was paid all in USD or GBP... so in Aussie rates, it ranges from 150 -250 per image. Really..all depending on where & what the publisher will be using the images for.. big coverage like front cover/double pages print or just a few small prints.

Q. You have had a lot of your photos on Explore, could you give us any tips or advice on how we could get our images on Explore?

A. Explore is a funny thing. The only tip or advice I can give is if your photo can get enough visits or comments even without adding them to groups, there is a high chance you can get your images on Explore. That's my theory at least. I know its easy to get obsessed with Explore.. i do initially but its good to get over it now :) Seriously, Explore is not about how good your shots are.. being on Explore consistently really does not make one a better photographer. Explore is just a simple way to let one explore the world within a few click of a button. If one is too concern about Explore, it definitely ruins photography in a lot of ways. If you still are really keen, be really active in flickr.. i'm sure you will get your rewards eventually but rem it always take time to build your community of friends here too ;)

Q. Is photography your fulltime job?

A. Photography is not my fulltime job. I only really started photography in April 2008. I work as a computing guy in my state uni. The only time I bring my camera out with me is mostly when i go on a trip. In fact I haven't touch my cam much since April this year except for a couple snapshots here & there... now that's really sad case haha!

Just a girl out for errands, an eyebrow appointment, and then NYE dress shopping. Oh yeah, heading to the warehouse to blow some minds. Karen and Destiny have seen a few pictures, but neither of them have met Steph in person yet. Let’s see what happens! 💋💜☮️

Favorite dress day. Oh…I also received my first pair of women’s prescription glasses from Steph’s Warby Parker eye appointment a few weeks ago.

Early TBT to last year’s October Walmart selfie stick modeling shoot. How ironic is this? That same top is hanging in my hotel closet right now.

Today is my 34M Estroversary. Yay! This picture marks 2020 as the last Christmas I will have to hide my true self.

In preparation for transition, I have been busy on Linked In creating “Her Why,” a page dedicated to sharing the unique source of empowered women.

Please stop by and check it out.💜☮️

Trans woman. It’s the best I can do for now and that’s OK…until I become a wife! ☮️💜

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone. This is the last December I’ll choose to share a dual identity. I am pretty sure this will not be Andro enough for our family Christmas travels. Only time will tell! ☮️💜🎄

Last tuesday i had a lecture about diversity and Pride history at my work, and sins then I´ve been working fulltime as female.

Yesterday I enjoyed a BEAUTIFUL spring time garden walk. There were a lot of of elder couples walking together. Of course my lonely mind was overtaken by many enchanting thoughts of a suitor. This girl thing is very real...thankfully.

Taking y’all shopping me and helping to run errands!

Found this purging recent phone pics. I can’t describe how nice it is to find a new favorite dress that makes you feel amazing all day. Lightweight fit and function are paramount on a blistering hot afternoon and this one delivers on all accounts. This just might be my Barbie movie screening dress. Anybody want to join me?

Hell no I’m not too old for this! Next month will produce another near geriatric birthday and I don’t care. Heading to the register now. 😂☮️💜

It was a lovely day. Regretfully some people are becoming more brazen as I was purposely misgendered twice today. One may say we both might be a bit ridiculous. Who is actually crazier? Me in a dress, full hair and make up, carrying a purse and proudly displaying two size 40C girls; expecting to be gendered female or the obtuse male bank teller and his smarty pants Jimmy Johns contemporary ruling their drive-through domains with hate. Ha!!!

I have learned to laugh it off after the initial sting. It is really kind of crazy. Just think, TSA get’s it right and polite every time, why can’t everyone else?

Non-Glam post as requested. Thank you to a few of my girlfriends for the inspiring support. This is me transitioning and being true to my spirit. No regrets for being a shorts and t-shirt trans girl most everyday. I love fashion, especially nice frocks and bags but at this age I prefer not to make poor wardrobe decisions that could result in an uncomfortable day.

I still love playing music and producing media, playing golf, tennis, and riding bikes, creating and delivering exciting events for a diverse range of clientele, and most of all I cherish my family whether they understand my feminine changes or not. Regretfully, emancipation and transitioning does not work with all of the people you encounter, know, or love. Ain’t life a Bitch! ☮️💜

Hmm…I feel like a girl, I walk like a girl, and I look like a girl. Guess I’m really a girl. What’s up that Mrs. Customer?!

Just another trans girl praying for unity and integration without the offbeat drumming of activism.

I thought it would be nice to take the older big girls for a stroll. They haven’t been out in a very long time and think they were feeling a little cramped. Today I am not sure my baby C’s can can share their rooms anymore so I’ll probably have two pair of Amoena 8’s and 9’s listed on the Offer Up app soon. Girl stuff. ☮️💜

I’m just waiting on a friend. ☮️💜
