I don't think I get as big a kick from anything I've ever done in photography as from the first look at a print on printing-out paper that I've coated myself. These albumen prints are never again as rich and dense after fixing and washing. Although they regain some density on drying and do have a certain old-timey charm, that first look is where the thrill comes, at least for me.
In its heyday during the 1920s and 1930s, Untermyer Gardens, located in Yonkers, New York, was a horticultural wonder, and civic leader Samuel Untermyer’s personal pride and joy. Upon Untermyer's death in 1940, he willed a portion of his 150 acre estate to the City of New York for use as a public space but the cost of the upkeep of the gardens was too prohibitive for the city and the gardens fell into ruin over time. During the 1970's there were many rumors of satanic cults using the gardens for ritualistic sacrifices and ceremonies. Infamous “Son of Sam” serial killer David Berkowitz was said to be mixed up with and influenced by the cults that used Untermyer Gardens for their rituals during that time.
Untermyer Gardens Conservancy was established in 2011 with aims on cleaning up the gardens, removing trash and graffiti and re-establishing its beauty and safety. Over the years they have done an enormous amount of work and the gardens now attract over 50,000 visitors a year.

It looks better :-)
Having been to Warwick recently, I thought of a shot of the castle I took in the high summer last year.
Long exposure taken in, Novalja, Island Pag, Croatia on very wind day with lots of waves. I've decided to use Spur HRX which was acquiring ISO 64, but I metered on ISO 100. I've added more development than usual, but actually I shouldn't, most photos came overdeveloped. This one was 2 min exposure, no RF (reciprocity failure) added since after 2 min, Acros acquire RF, and before not.
