Toppen "Fuglen" på Bjergafjellet er det høyeste punktet i Skjold - ca 535 m.o.h.
(The top "Fuglen" ("The Bird") on the montain Bjergafjellet is the highest point in my homeplace Skjold - about 535 meters above sea.)
A Eurasian blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus), taking a break in the rain by our bird feeders a couple of days ago.
The birds have struggled much more out here today, in the heavy wind and rain. I really hope that November will bring some nice weather too, both for the birds and for me photographing them ツ
We have at least 13 bird species around our bird feeders, after starting feeding a couple of weeks ago (in addition to several roe deer, some raptors flying by, and even some goatsツ). There are still some new bird species that I hope will visit us one day. It's nice to have at least something to look forward to and hope for, during the most boring month of the year..

One year ago I found a lovely blue tit family (Cyanistes caeruleus) in a neighboru's tree. This young bird waited for its parent to bring more food, and just let the fly be alone.
Actually this will be the front page photo of the next issue of The Norwegian Ornithological Society's magazine for my county. (I will also have a gannet photo on the back, many in the middle and a text about my bird interest history ツ)

Oosterschelde is a three-masted schooner from the Netherlands, built in 1917. She is the largest restored Dutch freightship and the only remaining Dutch three-masted topsail schooner. Her home port is Rotterdam.
As a freighter with a deadweight of 400 tons, she transported mainly clay, stone and wood, but also herring, bran, potatoes, straw and bananas. In the 1930s, a heavier diesel engine was installed and some sail-rigging was removed (including the aft mast). In 1939, she was sold to a Danish shipping company and, rebaptised Fuglen II, became one of the most modern ships in the Danish fleet. In 1954, she was sold to a Swede, renamed Sylvan and thoroughly rebuilt to a modern motorised coaster.
In 1988, she was brought back to the Netherlands. She had always been maintained well, but restoration to the original state turned out too expensive for private funding. So a foundation collected money from various sources, partly by selling shares in the ship. Restoration lasted from 1990 to 1992, with the help of her last Dutch captain, Jan Kramer, and three maritime museums to ensure authenticity.
From 1996 through 1998 she made a trip around the world (route: Red Sea, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, New-Zealand, Cape Horn, Antarctic, Açores). Maintenance is paid for through paying passengers and company presentations. A new voyage around the world started on November 3, 2012 and ended in May 2014. This brought the ship to Cabo Verde, Brazil, Cape Of Good Hope, Mauritius, Cape Leeuwin, New Zealand, Cape Horn and Antarctica.

SAIL Amsterdam is a maritime event held once every five years in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Tall ships from all over the world visit the city to moor in its eastern harbour. SAIL Amsterdam 2025 is the tenth edition, and the first one since 2015 as the 2020 event was cancelled. It was one of the main events celebrating Amsterdam's 750th birthday. It was also 50 years since the first SAIL Amsterdam was held.

Built in 1959 by Husumer Schiffswerft (yard no. 1132) as SPURVEN for Rederi A/S Fuglen of Æroskøbing. Sold in 1972 to Knut Sander Nielsen of Køge and renamed GEA SANDER. Reportedly renamed SANDY in 1986, but no official record exists. Sold the same year to Villiam M.V. Jørgensen (P/R Hals) and renamed PAX. Sold in 1990 to Ingolf Leth of Ålborg and renamed ANNIE MARGIT.
Sold in 1995 to La Petite Sirene SA, Haiti and renamed BITBURGER under the flag of Belize. Renamed ANN VICTORIA in 1996, then JOHANNA in 1999. Sold in 2000 to Lady Shandeline Corp of Panama and renamed LADY SHANDELINE. Sank off Miami 23 December 2000 under the name ANITA, apparently back with her Haitian owners.

Santa Marta Masketrogon eller på engelsk og latin Marsket trogon (Trogon personatus santaemartae) er også en endemisk underartart fra Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta i det nordlige Colombia helt op det Caribiske Hav. Fuglen på fotoet er en hun.

An adorable blue tit chick (Cyanistes caeruleus) from the archive.
It was together with a sibling and a parent in a neighbour's tree, waiting for the parent to bring them food.

Today I had many adults up close, searching for food by our bird station by the lighthouse, and a friend also ringed many of them.
I have had a lovely day by the lightouse today, and we got four new species for the year for the bird station: house sparrow, pink-footed geese, mistle thrushes and long-tailed tits (gråspurv, kortnebbgjess, duetroster og stjertmeiser in Norwegian).
They weren't registered there since 3, 4, 5 and 31 (!) years ago.

Spettmeis (Sitta europaea) er en spurvefugl i spettmeisfamilien.
Spettmeisen er gråblå på oversiden og hvit under, med svakt rustgulaktig tone på brystet og magen. Gjennom øyet går det en svart strek. Nebbet er rett, rundt og omtrent like langt som hodet. Spettmeisen kan bli 14–15 cm lang, og en voksen fugl kan veie opptil 23 gram. Spettmeisen er den eneste fuglen i Norge som kan gå nedover med hodet først. nuthatch (Sitta europaea) is a small passerine bird found throughout temperate Asia and in Europe, where its name is the nuthatch. Like other nuthatches, it is a short-tailed bird with a long bill, blue-grey upperparts and a black eye-stripe. It is a vocal bird with a repeated loud dwip call. There are more than 20 subspecies in three main groups; birds in the west of the range have orange-buff underparts and a white throat, those in Russia have whitish underparts, and those in the Far East have a similar appearance to European birds, but lack the white throat.
Hvidmasket Tangarsanger er endemiske i Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia. Vi så fuglen lige uden for vinduet i restauranten på El Dorado.
White-lored Warbler is a Colombian endemic songbird with a tiny range. Found only in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta of extreme northern Colombia, the species inhabits undergrowth of montane forest between 750 and 2200 meters in elevation.
