An incredible winters day in January. The Kymi stream stays unfrozen even at -18C (0F), creating a beautiful mist and painting the trees white.

Day 2 of the Ice Storm, aka Stormageddon 2.0, that plagued Atlanta (2 weeks after the previous storm brought the city to its knees with standstill traffic lasting upwards of 24 hours).

Only the front of the tree was coated. What I think happened was the wind blew the spray onto the front side. This tree reminds me of the trees in Yosemite Park, in America, in the winter, that are close to the geysers.

The Wizard has found the formula to transform himself into a wizened tree and now stalks the fields hereabouts.....
After an ice storm, we were 42 hours without power in Upstate New York. The most productive thing I could think to do was go out in the cold and take pictures of the full moon shining through the crystal-silver limbs of the frozen trees.
Since my camera doesn't auto-focus in the dark, I had to guess at the focal length and the exposure, and this is the only photo that came out looking decent.
Oh, yeah, this full moon was 30% brighter than normal, the result of the moon being at perigee, 28,000 miles closer than normal, and the closest it's been in 15 years.
Before you die, you must see moonlight on snow. It'll be worth whatever trouble you have to go to in order to see it.
