(first attempt with underlighting)

The roof of St. John's, in the West End of Princes Street, Edinburgh, is covered in these. It's a beautiful church.

The mourning dove was probably twenty feet (or more) above me and because of the expanse of sky around it, was consistently fooling the camera's meter into underexposing. So, I used the flash to expose for the bird, allowing the sky to go white with the +2.0EV exposure.

I took my camera and tripod to my office in case some nice thunderstorms with lightning shows up. There was no thunderstom and lightning at all but some beautiful yellow canola in the sunset on my way home. ;-)

Merlin claims this Christmas present for three cats as "mine, all mine."

I'm calling it epic just because of the crappy title and wind-whipped hair. I mean... come on, that hair's pretty extreme.

A detail of the ceiling in the auditorium at The New School, where most of the TypeCon presentations took place. Splendid Dutch school decoish wonderfulness.

Another shot I took without the intention of keeping, but after I looked at it I liked the pale, quiet sky.

Whenever we go to Door County, Kate likes to stop at this garden shop south of Algoma, Wisconsin. It's actually pretty neat (but don't tell Kate I said so). I try to stomp around going "harumph" as much as possible.

There's a reason for all the pretty glass buildings.

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

Went to see Les Miserables at the Cadillac Palace Theater, another pretty theater in Chicago. Look up and you see this.

A worm's eye view from my garden.

The newer Shouldice Bridge (right) is used for motor traffic, while the old John Hextall Bridge (left), constructed in 1910, is now used for only bicycles and pedestrians.

Between the communities of Bowness and Montgomery; the John Hextall Bridgeparallels Shouldice Bridge and is used for pedestrian and bicycle traffic only; originally carried a streetcar.

You might not be able to tell from here, but the girl on the left was hot.

Just so you know.
