Until recently, Charles Ray's 2009 sculpture "Boy With Frog" stood at the tip of Dorsoduro, “Punta Dogana”, facing St. Mark's Cathedral on the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy.
Larger than life, the 2.5-meters-tall boy holds a frog aloft, dangling by one leg. The sculpture, a classically inspired nude, painted with the white of Carrara marble, represents an adolescent; the boy is neither child nor man, and contemplates his catch.
The final version of the work is made in painted steel to be permanently installed in Venice in front of collector François Pinault's museum.

In a green, algae overgrown pond, this frog lay without moving; almost as if he was the emperor of the place (I guess he was, in a way). The frog itself was nothing special; the reflection of his eye in the water was, however.
At that point the fully automatic mode of my camera was a good thing. Just point and shoot and try to keep the camera shake free, while the computer-in-the-camera takes care of the rest.
