A special visitor on an unfortunately gloomy morning.

As the name suggests, the Thryeendi Trade Union is a merchant group from the Alpha-Thryeendi system, not far from Thaalus 6. The need for short range, un-armed freighters was quickly realized as the two systems began trade efforts for Thaalium and other elements.

Channeling more microspace. I think I need to try a shot at some more warships, and possibly another frigate.

Big thanks to Fernald for editing.

This is an OOG, not the eye, but out of gauge object. (Maybe it should be OOOG, object out of gauge?) The trailer went away and after a while came back with two donut fenders.

View On Black

Taken just after sunrise on a beach just to the east of the Bay Bridge tunnel. This was my first time to Yerba Buena/Treasure Island to shoot photos, and I spent half an hour trying to figure out where to go/park. By the time I found a spot, the sun had already crested the East Bay hills, so I just did some long exposure sea shots.

A freighter was passing by when I was shooting the rocks, so I managed to catch it during one exposure. Thinking back, I probably should have shot a quick shutter speed shot of the ship and merged it with the long exposure of the water. Anyhow, I spotted some cool piers with the SF skyline in the background for my next return trip, so I chalk this expedition up as educational.

30 seconds, f/8.0, 8 stop ND w/ graduated ND for ship/sky.

Probably the best thing I've ever built, which ain't saying much lol. Used to be that other grey ship I made a while ago but after Brickspo 2015 I decided it was pretty gross so started modifying it, then completely rebuilt it. Finished it two days before Brickspo 2016 and the public seemed to like it, there's probably a couple pictures floating around already but I still made my fancy edited up one that I shot with my phone camera because my DSLR isn't working right.

Anyways, for my three active followers, enjoy!

Passing the Sheboygan lighthouse, a freighter hauls cargo northward up Lake Michigan.

I'm on vacation and was enjoying coffee with my wife in our sunroom which overlooks the lake, when I noticed this dramatic scene:

1 - intense sunlight

2 - dramatic clouds

3 - lighthouse

4 - freighter

5 - Lake Michigan

I grabbed by camera and fired off 31 shots of varying compositions. I edited and posted this one :)

Enjoy!

Re-edition of this pic, which i've uploaded in Jetphotos back in the day and which is also available here in my Flickr. This new edit looks so much better in my opinion. It's nice to compare the old and new edits! :P

The gorgeous 747 of Korean Air Cargo is seen here on short finals to Heathrow's runway 27R. This scheme is amazing and fits the Jumbo so well. Wish I had pics of the KE passenger version too!

Yellow 2 was a space-freighter that was always in high demand. It's long nose could carry three cargo pallets and its engines could propel it to incredible speeds. Passengers on plodding planetary shuttles would often mistake it for a racing ship, thanks to its bright paint scheme.

A while back I finally fulfilled one of my long time dreams: to photograph the Chernobyl exclusion zone. In this shot some long abandoned freighters rusting away in river Pripyat. Can't help but to wonder what is the story for these freighters and quickly their fate changed after that faithful night back in 1986.

Have a lovely day! :-)

these large steel plates are like a ceiling (or a floor) between upper and lower holds. They will be put back onto the ship once the lower holds are filled.

Inspired by the book 'Tiny LEGO Wonders' I built the two vessels designed by George Panteleon, and decided to create a little vignette out of them.
