Often these great lakes freighters pass our city five miles out from shore, but this one last evening was closer in at about two miles. That allowed me to get some decent shots with my telephoto lens.

B-LJF, a Boeing 747-867F, was on final approach to runway 05 at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Mississauga, Ontario. It was arriving as CPA95 (Cathay Pacific Airways Limited) from New York (KJFK), New York. It later departed for Anchorage, Alaska.
N999YV, a Boeing 767-241ERSF, on approach to runway 06R at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Mississauga, Ontario. The freighter was arriving as CSB113 (21 Air, LLC) from Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago; and Campinas, Brazil.
Near the southern tip of Texada Island is a small freighter heading north. It is barely noticeable due to the Fata Morgana (mirage on the water). This was taken from the beach at Point Holmes in the Comox valley.
VQ-BWT, a Boeing 747-412BCF, on approach to runway 06L at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Mississauga, Ontario. It was arriving as LGT4402 (Longtail Aviation International Limited of St. George's, Bermuda) from the Frankfurt-Hahn Airport in Lautzenhausen, Germany.
Serial number 24975 began its career in February 1991 as 9V-SMI with Singapore Airlines. The 30-year-old still looked great.
An Orient bound bulk carrier makes its way towards the open Pacific through the Juan de Fuca Strait.

C-GHLV, a Boeing 767-333ER, on approach to runway 24L at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Mississauga, Ontario. It was arriving as ACA2311 (Air Canada) from Montreal, Quebec on a flight crew training mission.
Serial number 30852 began its career with Air Canada in October 2001. It joined the fleet of Air Canada rouge LP in June 2015 and served until March 2020, when the pandemic forced it into storage. The 20-year-old was reclaimed by Air Canada in October 2021.
Its future looks bright, as it will be a freighter with Air Canada Cargo.

It has a carrying capacity of 2,105,527 cubic feet (59,621.9 m3), has a 280-foot (85 m) unloading boom and is capable of unloading 11,200 NT/hr.[4] This is a maximum load of about 74,100 tons.[3] The ship has five cargo holds,[4] but 20 hatches which are 28 by 11 feet (8.5 by 3.4 m). The hatches are significantly smaller than other large lake freighters.[3]
