This is my first proper attempt at slow exposure night photography.
I don't imagine the M6 Motorway at Parbold has provided inspiration for too many budding photographers.
However, even though it was 04.30am and the traffic was light, I did start to get a handle on the exposure settings.
I've got a good idea in my mind's eye how I'll improve upon these shots next time.
As you can see the freeway we're merging into is pretty clear. Here's how it works: The interchanges is two lanes, which merge down to one about 1/8 of a mile before the freeway begins. Once you get on the freeway, if you're not exiting in 1/4 mile, you'll need to get over. The cars in the far right lane are usually trying to get into your lane, while the semis are usually going pretty fast and will NOT let you in.
I honestly believe that this is where I'll die, because you have no idea how many times, I've been driven off to the shoulder.
Part of my current project of shooting my commuting views. This was taken through the windshield while sitting in traffic on the 55 freeway. Color then flipped to B/W in Lightroom and touched up in CS4.
This is one shot for my Commuting portfolio which grew out of my need to take pictures every day. Since I spend a few hours day behind the wheel, I decided to see what I could do with my D300/D60 and a 50mm lens (most of the time)
The only question here is do I keep the light pole or not? I'm inclined to remove it.
