On Sunday early afternoon I was driving back to Ventura from Hemet. Here I was headed north on Hwy 15 to get to the 210 Foothill Freeway to go west. That's 10,000 ft elev Mt Baldy looming 35 miles in the distance, but getting ever closer. What a view, what a drive. Great scenery, light traffic...that's mid-winter in California! hahahaha!
This section from SR 303 to I-271 is being converted to a freeway. Luckily you can still get access to the Ohio Turnpike (I-80).
The Hollywood Freeway is one of the principal freeways of Los Angeles, California (the boundaries of which it does not leave) and one of the busiest in the United States. It is the principal route over the Cahuenga Pass, the primary shortcut between the Los Angeles Basin and the San Fernando Valley. It is considered one of the most important freeways in the history of Los Angeles and instrumental in the development of the San Fernando Valley. It is the second oldest freeway in Los Angeles (after the Arroyo Seco Parkway). From its southern end at the East Los Angeles Interchange to its intersection with the Ventura Freeway in the southeastern San Fernando Valley (the Hollywood Split), it is signed as part of U.S. Route 101

Today's photo - "Shoulder View"
I did something I've always wanted to do, to get the sunrise - pull over to shoulder of the highway to capture the beauty of the sunrise on my way to work.
Cheers.
