It's been so long since I've bought any new fabric to play with, but I just couldn't resist this lovely print...
It’s been almost 6 months since I photographed my last stranger, I was searching for interesting and unique people with character as my subject and nothing felt right. I have spent more time on my mountain bike than behind the camera taking portraits, but today I decided to carry my DSLR with me on my ride and headed 10Km into the mountains. I stopped at a lookout point and pulled out my camera, a few moments later Angie road up on her mountain bike and sat down just beyond the lookout.
Being a one time hardcore mountain biker, I instantly recognized her slightly older, but quality Kona bike she was riding. Its not often I see a young woman riding an old school bike, it just stood out to me; she later explained that it was her dad's old bike.
I rode away briefly to find a few other shots to take, but came back empty handed. When I returned to the lookout, Angie was practicing her Maori Poi Ball (pom-poms) and Chinese Fans, it was a beautiful backdrop, so I decided to see if she would mind being photographed. Initially I didn’t consider adding her to “My 100 Stranger’s Project” as this exercise had stalled for me; but as we chatted and got to know her a bit more, she became the perfect subject to get this project restarted again.
Angie is a naturally beautiful young woman who even after a wearing a bike helmet in the near 20 degree C temperatures still looked terrific. She has a free spirited organic kind of soul & was very comfortable in front of the camera.
She is currently expanding her wings in various post secondary studies and trying to find her calling and place in our hierarchical capitalistic society. I know she will find her calling, as her heart is in the right place.
A young woman with a top with various camera prints on it needs to be photographed.

See him LARGE.
Just tryna be in this
Tell me are you too?
Can you feel where the wind is?
Can you feel it through
All of the windows
Inside this room
'Cause I wanna touch you baby
I wanna feel it too
I wanna see the sunrise
On your sins just me and you
Light it up, on the run
Let's make love tonight
Make it up, try, fall in love, try
But you'll never be alone
I'll be with you from dusk till dawn
I'll be with you from dusk till dawn
Baby, I am right here
I'll hold you when things go wrong
I'll be with you from dusk till dawn
Baby, I am right here...

This miniature poodle is too cute! She knows she looks good perched up on that pillow. This is from our photo shoot for my Westminster Fibers/Free Spirit Fabric Monaco Collection magazine ad. Photo by Christina Hernandez.

Charm quilt made from Heather Bailey's freshcut line. I purchased a bunch of fat quarters then cut them up into squares (i can't remember what size, and the quilt is now at my mom's house). The green and white border fabric was purchased at Jo-Anns (Quilter's Cotton that I purchased with a half off coupon). This photo is of the quilt on a rock in my mom's yard in Maine.
