Not an exciting shot to look at, but I am always thrilled to see these freckled ducks as I see them so rarely. There are a few teals in there too, but this was a small part of quite a large flock of freckled ducks that had settled in Lake MacIntyre near Millicent in South Australia.

Probably my favourite Australian duck species - the magnificent Freckled Duck! Their plumage is spectacular! I have really struggled to photograph this species in the past, however this Spring I found a local small wetland that up to a dozen of these ducks were frequenting. The wetland is located in a housing estate so the ducks were quite comfortable with people nearby.

Abandoned Abused Street Dogs.
Plan for today is a wash .................
Monsoons all night and continues on all day.
Roads are flooded, commerce has been brought
to it's knees. Big trucks as well as cars are stuck...
Remember the plan was to ride the 2 wheel bike
out to resupply the nuns at the monkey temple ?
That trip would have been absolutely insane and
extremely dangerous ! So it was cancelled until
further notice. Supplies are here waiting to be
delivered on another date, maybe tomorrow.
This photo was taken April 5th 2017 ...........
Rocky and Little Freckles both wanting
my undivided attention, they got it ... ;-)~

the sun has brought out my freckles like it does every summer. havent uploaded in a while but i will be adding more new photos again.
These guys only move at dusk and dawn so I thought this photo was apt. During the day they perch on low branches around the water. Mostly immobile and not too interesting to tell the truth.
