La murale du Freak Lunchbox, 1729 Barrington St, Halifax, Nouvelle-Écosse (Nova Scotia), Canada.
Située à proximité de la Province House, cette fresque, qui décore la façade adjacente d’une confiserie, a été créée en 2015 par Jason Botkin, un Montréal et un maître des murales extérieures. La scène représente une bataille entre un héron bleu et une pieuvre qui se disputent un poisson. Tout est fait dans de délicieuses teintes rose-bonbon accentuées par la présence des bonbons multicolores. Les tentacules de poulpe s'écoulent de la "toile". Les bonbons rappellent les délices qui attendent le client à la Freak Lunchbox.
Halifax est la capitale de la province canadienne de Nouvelle-Écosse. Elle est aussi la plus grande municipalité des provinces de l'Atlantique. A dramatic arctic chill swept across the northeast U.S. this weekend, with a fast-moving front of dark, rolling clouds, a stark contrast against the otherwise sunny day. The marina opened for the season on May 1st, and there were a few sailboats out on the bay, but the biting wind and plummeting temperatures made it too uncomfortable to stay. At home, the sun was shining, but there was sleet falling. In New Jersey and further east on Long Island there was some snow accumulation. Freak weather for May; strange times, indeed. You would think an adventure in a castle would be a night out in and of itself, right? Not us! Straight on from the disappointment in the last photograph, we drove over to Tintern Abbey.
This was our second time here as, on the first visit I really didn't feel that I took any good shots of the Abbey from a distance. I could see why, as we stood in the adjacent field trying to take this one.
The area is so dark but the abbey is lit by very powerful lights. It took combining multiple exposures to get back the detail on the building itself and then a lot of tweaking in Lightroom to balance the shot. I don't usually like to do so much to my shots but I would say this is a somewhat accurate reflection of what the place would look like when not so dark.
