I let my imagination run rampant amongst the various black and gold shades of material that I had on hand.
This frame has been created mosaic style with Italian vitreous glass. It holds a 5x7 photo. The colors of tile include a light sand yellow, a warm golden brown, brick red and a graphite grey. The earth tones all compliment each other.
Here is the result of mounting the frames to the front panels. Drilled, glued and screwed. Hope this baby'll take the full weight of many drinks. I wouldn't advise dancing on the bar top though!
Not sure that this image has any artistic merit but I have been reading Michael Freeman's book on composition. One of the points made is the use of frames and this was an attempt to try and use that concept. Here we have frames within frames within frames within......
My prints all framed matted and ready to go for the Burn the Chaff group show.
The frames are from a mirror that I found in an alley, ripped apart, cut up, and spray painted black.
I was happy with how everything turned out and it was a good show.
