Are you ready? I was told that we should have some snow here in Chicago on Wednesday. I know some of you might not like it but I’m looking forward to it. I like to see some snow on the ground during holiday season. In anticipation I will leave you with this lightly snowy frame of Chicago. What do you think?

After I sorted the elements. // Even then / did the whole assembly / breath the air of separate parts.

(Assemblage - collage: wood, board, cement, paint, 34x28x4 cm)

Since noon, I was camped with my gear to shoot the low flying pelicans and the cormorants. It was almost sunset and the evening hues were upon us. The serene Salton Sea was giving a very beautiful backdrop to my photographs.

But then one of them visitors, her, climbed over with ledge and started walking toward the edge. At one moment I was captured by the light reflecting off her and the evening hues making up for the colors missing off her dress. It was a magical moment for a photographer. I asked her if I can take a few shots, She obliged!

I am usually call myself a landscape and nature photographer and not in photographing people but sometimes landscape, nature and people come together and form a coherent frame you just can't refuse!

Thanks for your favorites and comment, I highly appreciate them!

And did you get what

you wanted from this life, even so?

I did.

And what did you want?

To call myself beloved, to feel myself

beloved on the earth.

We arrived at Dog Rock a few hours before sunset. The sun was still quite high and the only salvation from the heat were the clouds that rushed past and generously shared the coolness. The views from this rock were stunning, but I was in no hurry to take photographs, but simply stood and listened to the wind, which moved the clouds and showed different pieces of the landscape, like a mosaic. Having completely frozen, we decided it was time for coffee. The gas burner refused to light up in such a wind, so we had to make coffee in the trunk of the car. I still can’t decide for myself what I was more surprised by – the beautiful views or the coffee brewed in the trunk of the car. At some point, a couple of donkeys kept us company. Did they really come by the smell of coffee? We had nothing to feed them, so we just tried to ignore them and dodged their attention. Our fuss with the donkeys was noticed by a group of girls who had already taken a reasonable number of selfies and didn’t know what else to do, because they didn’t want to leave such a beautiful place. They asked permission to take some pictures with the donkeys and also asked what their names were. I was completely bewildered, why did they decide that the donkeys were ours? And who gives a name to a donkey anyway? Our guide came to my aid. He said that he would be very happy if the girls took souvenir photos with these beautiful creatures and that the most beautiful donkey was called Django. Satisfied girls took the donkeys away from us, and I was finally able to take my shot.

Such adventures are needed at least once a year in order to realize something new, to look at familiar things differently. These are exactly the kind of travels and experiences that are remembered for a long time, and Django the donkey will definitely remain in my memory for a lifetime.

Thanks for reading.
