FRAGILE FORKTAIL DAMSELFLY-05220621-
On July 25, 2011, ICESCAPE scientists packed up fragile lab equipment as the icebreaker ship steamed home after finishing collecting science data.
The ICESCAPE mission, or "Impacts of Climate on Ecosystems and Chemistry of the Arctic Pacific Environment," is NASA's two-year shipborne investigation to study how changing conditions in the Arctic affect the ocean's chemistry and ecosystems. The bulk of the research takes place in the Beaufort and Chukchi seas in summer 2010 and 2011.

Photographed in a studio. This photo was taken using natural light from outside. The fragility of the model was expressed by the light shining through the gaps in the curtains.
While I was taking a walk in the sun today, this little leaf feel onto my shoe (yes, I walk that slow).
Statement on the economy of 2011 with ideas about how to cure it, by an unknown politician.

“My own understanding is the sole treasure I possess, and the greatest. Though infinitely small and fragile in comparison with the powers of darkness, it is still a light, my only light.”
Don't ask me why i am pouting, it seems to be a new thing, a new model thing extra for my flickr friends :).

Whenever I open one of these old watches, I feel how fragile we and our creations are. One tiny bit of dust, a little spot of rust, some stress on the wrong spot and everything will stop working.
We are not much different than this watch.
If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one
Drying in the colour of the evening sun
Tomorrows rain will wash the stains away
But something in our minds will always stay
Perhaps this final act was meant
To clinch a lifetimes argument
That nothing comes from violence and nothing ever could
For all those born beneath an angry star
Lest we forget how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are how fragile we are
How fragile we are how fragile we are
We are fragile.
The earth, the animals, the birds, the fish, the people.
We are all fragile.
Let's take better care.

"The sun was warm but the wind was chill.
You know how it is with an April day.
When the sun is out and the wind is still,
You're one month on in the middle of May.
But if you so much as dare to speak,
a cloud come over the sunlit arch,
And wind comes off a frozen peak,
And you're two months back in the middle of March."
- Robert Frost

“Some people are like fragile petals, and they don't recover from hardship. Do we blame the petal? Or do we excuse its fragility and mourn its loss?” ~ Aleksandra Layland
“You cannot be open to fully feel love
And all its beauty
Until you can be open to fully feel pain
In all its sorrow
In the strength of my heart
I saw the fragility of yours” ~ Christine Evangelou
“...allowing yourself to be vulnerable makes you weak but also opens you to the nuances of beauty...” ~ John Geddes

My new analogue project "FRAGILE".
Photos taken in all belgium woods during winter 2011-2012.
Didn't find my place anymore in the city, so i went in the woods to find something i lost in the urban society where a lot of us interact.

Third sister
smaller than the rest
Blue thing
She's tears and all that's blessed
She's fears and all
loneliness
She's beauty from a kiss
and shining
all the time,
she's someone we don't know we'll miss
Until her
fragile beauty
her fragile beauty
is gone
She burns
brighter than Christmas trees
Beautiful!
Beautiful!
She cries
and I drown in water
from her eyes
Beautiful! She's so Beautiful!
From the mysteries of the ages
to the men we keep in cages
and the poetry and politics,
the science and arithmetic
Beautiful!
From the glaciers in the mountains
to the waters in the brooks,
all the ignorance and avarice
and knowledge in the books
from the dinosaurs
to astronauts
gentle rains
to hurricanes
bicycles and aeroplanes
ecstasy and searing pain,
Beautiful! She’s so beautiful!
She grows
wider than meadows
and dies quicker than flies
Taller than rain clouds
beneath a perforated sky
she lies
Beautiful, she’s so beautiful
from the motion in the ocean
and the creatures in the sea
the color spectrum everywhere
and everything we see
She's so beautiful

"I learned something this evening. I learned that you never leave your pinhole on a tripod in the wind without either weighing it down or keeping hold of it, lest the lovely wood box should fall right over and have chunks taken out of it. I suppose, however, that's a different story of a different camera and not really relevant to this discussion." -Rhett

...On and on the rain will fall
like tears from a star, like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
how fragile we are, how fragile we are
......La pioggia continuerà a cadere su di noi
come lacrime da una stella
La pioggia continuerà a dirci
quanto siamo fragili, quanto siamo fragili...
