FRAGILE FORKTAIL DAMSELFLY-07211544-.jpg
past light of here
the light of there
softly hovers
silently lands
seeps into what
we have thought
was solid
oh
but what is
so delicate this day
in which we breathe
luminescence

Never knew that this flower's petals would turn out this way after rain but its pretty in a delicate and fragile way.
detail, three flying frogs by Mireille Belle for Montreux Biennale. They are perched on poles and placed on the grass, surrounded by trees and behind a railing, so it's impossible to get a decent photo.
I thought I'd do something a little different today - was about to chuck this spotlight bulb away (got the wrong one and was too lazy to exchange it in the shop)...yh I know , real lazy - and thought about getting an interesting shot of it instead!
Thought the intact bulb was a little boring, so tried breaking it a little. Tried doing that using the end of a corkscrew - repeatedly hitting it, but man, these bulbs are crazy tough to break!!! Either that or I'm a wimp!! :D...Gave up with that idea and smashed it against a empty beer bottle - yeah, real manly!!! :D
Anyway, it made me think about how many things in life are fragile...perhaps, we think we ourselves are fragile...but you know, deep down there's always some strength remaining. Sometimes, it's way more than we could have imagined!...It takes a lot to completely break us.
...Keep believing in your own strength.

Today should've been day 100, but that clearly didn't happen. I will catch up though. I've had such a busy week what with getting over jet lag, catching up on university, working and editing two lots of client photos tonight - but now it's all done, I'm mostly over my cold and hopefully I can relax and shoot some more this weekend! I've had this idea for such a long time now, and I glued together this card house specifically for this shoot perhaps two months ago. I'm glad I finally got to shoot it today, even if I couldn't light the cards on fire as I'd hoped to as it was too windy. This is an extension of my childhood series, hopefully it gets the message across.
As always with the photos in this series, I really would love opinions on the emotion, what you think it portrays, anything you like! :)
Flickr sharpening has done some strange things to the grass in this...

I know that I posted some Acer photos the other day, but there was something about the quality of light this afternoon that made the colours on the Acers more saturated, without any post processing (and the camera’s colour settings on neutral).
"Fragile and so Precious as this Jar".
From this idea Islam thought of the woman as a valuable creature and insisted in protecting her from being broken and lost. Allah obligated us to be covered and wear Hijab because we are like a valuable pearl which always handled with care and covered to keep the glow of the pearl. And we - Muslim women- are too Covered outside to glow and benefit the world from our inside.

While I love this long necklace, it breaks nearly every time I wear it. I’m not much of a crafter, so repairing it is a pain.
To keep this fragile necklace intact, I usually put it in my pocket for my commute and any activity more vigorous than a walk to the restroom. I managed to NOT break it on this wearing!
Jacket, Old Navy (swap). Dress, Calvin Klein (consignment). Boots, Jeffrey Campbell. Sunglasses, Shakedown Street. Necklace, gift.

We, humans, are fragile beings. We are easily overwhelmed by strong emotions of anger, anxiety, depression and so on, and exit out of it seems too narrow. The fragility is often expressed in forms of violence. Such act only leaves scratches, dirts and dusts in, on, and around ourselves.
The sun made these tulips look like they're made out of glass, and seemingly fragile. It's one of my favorite pictures taken at the Keukenhof this year around.
Taken @ Keukenhof, Lisse 2015 (Netherlands).
