I love this tower. Not sure why.

This was mostly a test-scan with my newly modified dSLR scanning rig. Happy with it. External light sources are mostly eliminated, and flash light is contained and only comes through the negative - less bleed = better scans.

This isn't bad for a 15 euro-camera, is it?

I'm going to Schiermonnikoog this afternoon and I'll be there a couple of days, so I wish you all a Merry Christmas! :)

The force was established in the 13th Century and is the country’s oldest constabulary.

York Minster is one of only a handful of cathedrals in the world to maintain its own police force. Those that do have a police force include Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral, Canterbury Cathedral, St Peter's Basilica in Rome, and Washington's National Cathedral in Washington DC.

The force consists of eight officers, a sergeant, an inspector and a warden. One of their main duties is the responsibility for 380 sets of keys to buildings and doors on the Minster estate, and they also oversee the movement of money around the Minster and fire safety.

On my regular dog walking circuit I pass, or in some cases go through on paths that are public rights of way, several fields. The gates are far from uniform and far from effective at retaining animals which they don't need to as all are holding back crops, just before harvest at the moment.

A mini series with the walkabout weight and size of the Ilford Advocate, FP4+, developed in Ilfotec HC and even using Ilford Rapid Fixer. A full Ilford production on the credits.

I think I varied the angle of view enough to keep interest but there are limited ways to approach this, at one point I thought of doing a Bernd Becher & Hilla Becher and may do some time.

I saw an exhibition of theirs at the 1990 Venice Biennale and was very impressed with the impact their work made, I have pictures of their pictures in my archive, somewhere :-)

A test image. There are a few clouds across the top of the building, but at 1/1000 exposure is beautifully even and consistent: no tapering, or bounce. This is good!

St Michael's Mount is a small tidal island in Mount's Bay, Cornwall, England. The island is linked to the town of Marazion by a man-made causeway of granite setts, passable between mid-tide and low water. It is managed by the National Trust, and the castle and chapel have been the home of the St Aubyn family since approximately 1650. The earliest buildings, on the summit, date back to the 12th century.
