Piazza Navona and the Fountain of the four rivers

(SCANNED PHOTO) On the right is one of the sculpted figures from the Fountain of the Four Rivers. It symbolizes the Ganges River. Beyond it is the façade of the church of Sant’Agnese in Agone. The fountain sits in the middle of Piazza Navona and was built in 1651, while the church was built in the 1650s-1660s.

I met this beautiful women nearby the Chode Gompa Monastery in Litang. She was walking through the town with her grand-daughter and a Yack. The monastery was built for the third Dalai Lama. Litang is located at an altitude of 4,014 metres. It is on open grassland and surrounded by snow-capped mountains and is about 400 meters higher than Lhasa, making it one of the highest towns in the world. Several Dalai Lamas were born here.
