You see no tears falling down my face, but if you look deep into my eyes, you can see them flowing from my soul.

....now tourists need no longer be asked to put poor animals back on their feet when they find such a poor creature that has tripped and fallen.
Because of their round body shape the fourlegged sheep is not able to get up again after falling, so in tourist brochures you are asked to do this animal the favour to help it up again.
Problem solved? ;)
A very unusual book to the ones I normally like to read.

34/365 - fourlegged animal
Low winter sunshine lights up this misty winter contre-jour silhouette of two horses on the lower slopes of Cleeve Hill, Cheltenham.
Scanned from an old Kodachrome slide snapped in early 1983!
peace at the end of the day, A time for quiet reflection.

...leave us in here.
We got work to do, you know.
Chew on some legs and such.
Release us now, please.
The Power Miners Unit 7 is a prototype mining mecha eqipped with a delicate manipulator hand and a high-power micro drill for the delicate operations of removing volitile, fragile, and generally valuable gems from bedrock and the like. Its four feet are all equipped with high-friction rubber tips to grip rocks and such for secure footing. The pilot is safely protected in the large metal compartment at the back, free from falling rocks.
Some additional views.
Also: the cockpit opens.
We can't do without it any more. Electricity is essential to our economy, society and to our personal lives. We need it at home and at work. More and more applications depend on electricity. Think of central heating, cars and now also trucks and large industrial production processes, such as at Tata Steel, Yarra and Dow Chemical.
TenneT has the task of installing an electricity grid at sea. This way, offshore wind farms can be connected to the onshore electricity grid. Onshore houses the greatest demand for electricity. If each wind farm had to design and construct its own export connection, it would be very expensive. The export cable determines roughly 40% of the business case of a wind farm. That is why the Dutch have a system that standardizes and coordinates this. Until 2030, TenneT will build eight identical platforms and position them offshore. These are the “sockets” for the offshore wind farms.
Hollandse Kust south
TenneT is currently installing 2 sockets for the Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) wind energy zone. HKZ Alpha and Beta. Together they will provide the offshore connection for Vattenfall's 1.5 GW wind farm from the end of 2022.
Collision with Beta
On Monday, January 31 2022, storm Corrie caused an empty bulk carrier of 200+ meters to drift. After a collision with another vessel it drifted through the construction zone of HKZ. It just missed Alpha and later collided with the chassis or support jacket of the platform Beta. This has caused damage, but not to the extent that the jacket had to be replaced or had to be repaired onshore.
Topside
On December 27, 2021, the superstructure, also called topside, was placed on the jacket. TenneT is now carrying out the final installation work. In order to do this quickly and efficiently, the employees do not sail back to land every day. A working/hotel platform has been placed next to Beta. In this case, the Seafox 7. This is a four-legged, self-lifting large ship without propulsion. The ship offers space for accommodation, construction work and maintenance. It’s specifically designed to withstand harsh offshore environments and conditions, it can operate all year round in water depths up to 40m. The Seafox 7 offers permanent accommodation to 113 persons on board (POB).
Getting bigger
The topside of Beta is roughly 30 meters high, 60 meters long and 35 meters wide. In short: it is not a small object. In the future, the sockets will become larger. Because the wind farms further out to sea will become a bit larger and, due to the longer distance to land, require a different connection technology. Those platforms then become 5 football fields in size. In any case, so large that, despite a lens of 16 mm, you can no longer easily get this in one photo from so close.
Technical Stuff
This is a single non-HDR photo. The EV range of the Canon R6 is such that one in many cases doesn’t multiple shots. And that's a very nice feature when you're on board a moving ship. This shot was taken at: 250ISO, f8.0, -2/3EV, 1/250 and at 29 mils.
Post-production was done with Lightroom. Mainly balancing the (back) lighting conditions. Finally, I added the copyright signs (in Photoshop). The latter is, alas, there to stay due to the frequent copying of my photos. So, don't bother commenting on that.
- Ehmm. No thanks.
- Why? Trust me, it´s an automatic.
- You got a license?
- WOOF.
- Was that a yes?
She nodded. I passed.
Even if she flattered me a bit.

While visiting Salmon Arm we went to Ovino winery at 1577 Yankee Flats Rd south of the city for a tasting (and purchase).
Lovely Farm-gate operation with a flock of sheep to go with the winery. The sheep are great at weed control around the vines in the dormant season.
Their gewurztraminer is very good.
This sheep shearing reminds me of the latest mens hair fad - sheared sides, long messy top - yuk.
ABOUT OVINO - from their web site:
When traveling through the scenic Salmon Valley, between Salmon Arm and Vernon, you will find OVINO vineyards and winery perched on a bench well above the valley bottom.
This glacier carved landscape offers mostly sandy and sandy loam soils, marbled with infrequent layers of clay.
The vines are located on a sun drenched knoll to maximize photosynthesis and air flow, supported by a drip irrigation system.
In 1992 the property was purchased by John and Catherine Koopmans, who established a small dairy farm on this 31 acre property as well as keeping a small flock of sheep.
In 2006 it was decided to sell the cows and in 2007 a four acre vineyard was planted with four varieties of grapes: pinot gris, pinot meunier, gewurztraminer and the old cold hardy standby marachel foch.
In 2009 an additional 3/4 of an acre was planted in newly developed fungal disease resistant varieties, cabernet libre and regent, both red wine grape varieties.
The flock of sheep is still around (hence the OVINO name) and is given access to the vineyard in the dormant season to clean up weeds and provide natural fertilizer. At OVINO we strive for sustainability in our farming methods.
I howl as I yearn to know my past, my origin
I stand alone to face my fears, challenge my inhibitions
I hunt, not to conquer the weak, but to live
I battle the strong, not for supremacy, but for my own survival
I dread none, but my pack
As my own have left me solitary when I needed them the most...
My dear fourlegged friend Melker is not feeling well.
Taking the dayshift off tomorrow to take him to the vet.
Most likely urinary infection, he´s in a good mood and have no fever or something, but still.
This male Philoromus crab running spider in the aureolus group was hobbling around on just four legs outside the front door, but it must be doing somewhat ok anyway as I found it several weeks after this (still on four legs).
How about that metallic purple paintjob? You think it's better in green instead? Ok, here you go: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/40966260410/
