I originally made this image for the Macro Mondays group on the topic of buttons but decided it wasn't close enough but I still like the image.
Mass Coastal 2012 leads a four-car train at Forge Road in Assonet, Freetown, MA. The train is en route to Fall River from Taunton.
This is a monument on the downtown riverfront where I live,
Evansville, IN USA...it's a very lovely peaceful place for a stroll etc. A week ago today...things started getting NOT so peaceful at flickr...so thought I'd post this pic...no other description necessary yes?
Sam and I agreed to end the chase at Fremont to make it easier to head back to Lincoln, so we parked a mile east of 275 and waited for him to head into town.
The light was quickly fading, but thankfully he picked up some speed again (and brought a third motor online), allowing for one last shot in the evening light before we headed home.

n western Peloponnese, in the so-called "valley of the gods", Ancient Olympia grew to be the most celebrated sacred site of Ancient Greece, and the birthplace of the Olympic Games, the most important sports events in all antiquity: starting from 776 B.C., all Greeks – across the then known world – would be united every four years and all hostilities would be suspended so that everyone could take part in these games in the true spirit of sportsmanship. Olympia is now, as it used to be in the past, a famed destination, a powerful landmark known the world over.
A few captures of our extremely skittish White Pelicans! I also know that some of you want to see more of the background in the scenes and will work in a bit of the bayou in this capture with some of the reeds and trees in the background!! This old tree trunk has become lodged in a shallow area at the mouth of Horsepen and it's a prime gathering place for these skittish characters! I think they know I'm trying to sneak up on them!

Brachymesia gravida, Goodnight Ranch Community Pond, Austin. These dragonflies, usually about 50 mm long, are common around ponds and slow-moving water.

Actually these critters were oblivious to the cold and me. And, of course, I was the only nut in the park, besides the contents of the squirrel pantries. It was cold!
