The cemetery made from found objects in my backyard is overgrown. The installation is an ongoing project that has been erected in one form or another since the 80's. Some of the objects have been exhibited as standalone pieces, but mostly the markers are in a state of decay [ process ]. These objects are waiting for another marker to be constructed.
Not much color in the arboretum on this March morning.
I began looking for anything colorful, even trash. Though out of place, this tennis ball looks right at home, like a mallard peacefully floating along on a tranquil pond.
This little eye ball was made from a shell, have never seen anything like it. Most likely for a teddy bear or small doll.
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.

I saw this outside Woolwich DLR station. The history of the pentagram symbol looks quite interesting...
it's pretty cool. i wish i had time to clean it up and use it. but i don't, so i just put it on the free stuff seattle craiglist listing.
Just trying to get better shots of some of the masks. Need a professional phtographer, but it will be awhile before I can afford one :-)
About Dirae:
I find it fascinating that in the classical world, many facets of anger were personified as female. Nemesis and Nike were associated with vengeance and justified retribution, and The Furies, also known as Erinnyes or Dirae, were entities who pursued and tormented those who committed terrible crimes. How different from later generations of women discouraged from showing any hint of anger lest they be deemed ‘un-ladylike’. I still have great difficulty expressing anger. And if I do, I often find myself feeling guilt for years after... as if I were being haunted by the terrible Dirae themselves.
Wheels and pitchforks and sheepherders' monuments are designed into a most unique environment. Someday Tim hopes to build an entire "Log Town."
Turns out there's more than one reason for going to Roundup. Tim Anderson calls it his Little Mansion, and if you like rocks, you're going to like what Tim's Done with the place. It features not just rocks - which he's nailed to the wall - but wagon wheels, horseshoes, pitchforks, washing machines and other things that people throw away. Tim hauls all these found objects with his bike or tractor, and he uses them to decorate both his home and yard with a designer's measured eye. "I call that the Go-Mobile," he says, pointing out a free form metal assemblage that he readily admits "Don't go." His dream is to build a whole town this way, and perhaps find a wife who might help him accomplish his grand architectural scheme.
