Found in the exterior kitchen wall behind the counter cupboards. I'm guessing the kitchen once had a very classy backsplash tiled with these copper tiles.
ADDA DADA just loves his found objects...and he appreciates those who love those photos, too!
(yes, ADDA understands everyone would like to see T&A...or is that C& B - CHESTS & BUTTS?)
Altered mixed media treasure box. Doll parts, found objects, acrylic paint, transferred images, jewelry parts, scrabble tiles. Hawaiian theme.

Found object. All that survives from a long-gone toy. I love the idea of these tiny bricks being scaled up to the size of real buildings in this eerily empty landscape.
Found this (in its current state) within a week of thinking about finding a derelict piano to turn into a garden objet d'art/planter. It disappeared shortly thereafter.
Altered mixed media treasure boxes. Doll parts, found objects, pique assiette mosaic, beads, acrylic paint, transferred images, jewelry parts.
A 17 string Kora made from a 3 gallon polycarbonate water bottle, plum branches, Windsor chair spindle, unknown hardwood, steel nail and ring, Mexican 50 centavo piece, and nylon monofilament.
Just trying to get better shots of some of the masks. Need a professional phtographer, but it will be awhile before I can afford one :-)
About Dirae:
I find it fascinating that in the classical world, many facets of anger were personified as female. Nemesis and Nike were associated with vengeance and justified retribution, and The Furies, also known as Erinnyes or Dirae, were entities who pursued and tormented those who committed terrible crimes. How different from later generations of women discouraged from showing any hint of anger lest they be deemed ‘un-ladylike’. I still have great difficulty expressing anger. And if I do, I often find myself feeling guilt for years after... as if I were being haunted by the terrible Dirae themselves.

The cemetery made from found objects in my backyard is overgrown. The installation is an ongoing project that has been erected in one form or another since the 80's. Some of the objects have been exhibited as standalone pieces, but mostly the markers are in a state of decay [ process ]. These objects are waiting for another marker to be constructed.
