Found this lovely collection of Shelley's poetrey at the recycling center a while back, opened up to find the very old 4 leaf clover.
"Found in prairies, deserts, and open range of the West, the regal Ferruginous Hawk hunts from a lone tree, rock outcrop, or from high in the sky. This largest of North American hawks really is regal—its species name is regalis—with a unique gray head, rich, rusty (ferruginous) shoulders and legs, and gleaming white underparts. A rarer dark-morph is reddish-chocolate in color. Ferruginous Hawks eat a diet of small mammals, sometimes standing above prairie dog or ground squirrel burrows to wait for prey to emerge. "

A while back, my girlfriend found her grandfathers old camera, a Diax Ia from the early 1950s, in the basement storage of her parents home. After cleaning the clogged shutter mechanism from greasy muck, we tried it out and got some nice results. So when her sisters wedding came along late this summer, I brought the camera to take some photos. The results are what you see here and in upcoming days.
Taken with Diax Ia analog camera. Fuji Superia 100 film, more than 10 years expired.
Negative scanned with Epson Perfection V500 Photo, cropped and downsized for the web.
photograph I acquired from a large archive of negatives from a San Francisco Bay based commercial photographer taken mostly in the 1960s to 1970s.
