Day 59 of 365.

Still feeling lost in the world. But somehow, in a beautiful place, I tend to forget about my problems.

I found this Late afternoon and quite, serene spot, while driving around the valley floor. Most of the snow has melted since I was last there about nine weeks ago.

Once again, I was thinking monochrome while setting up the shot. It required a 6-exposure bracket @ 1-EV to pull in the EV range. Mostly, it was the shadow tones of the trees that I was looking for. Of course, the fall needed to hold to zone 8/9, so it could be adjusted if needed. 8-frames were shot in total for coverage, with only the middle 6 being used. Image was cropped to 4X5 ratio (thinking large format as usual) only taking off part of the bottom.

found a pair of these beautiful kingfisher along the Nepean River at Yarramundi, NSW

Hey, I found . . . these, just laying on your desk. So, that's how you feel, huh? You want to have sex with me? No, I'm not mad; just kind of surprised it took you so long to say something. Let me see if I remember how these work . . .

Oh no. I put a pin through your last two. It's okay, though. I should be safe today. . .

We found this huge tree stump near our house and it's so interesting! I knew I had to have a Bench Monday picture with it. It's kind of sad to think about it being cut down.

My Things weren't very thrilled with me. I may or may not have made them sit on the tiny vines growing out of the stump that are a bit prickly.

I may or may not have bribed them with a sucker so they'd sit still long enough for me to get a picture with all of their feet still.

I'll never tell.

photograph I acquired from a large archive of negatives from a San Francisco Bay based commercial photographer taken mostly in the 1960s to 1970s.
