Petal formwork (15m x 11m) for 8 petalled circular swimming pool ceiling (30m diameter). CAD modelled and CNC cut Plywood and MDF with reference levels and check points machined in allows the accurate construction of the plug. 3D Laser scanning and survey of the as built support steelwork drive the CAd model, allowing maximum accuracy and speed of fitting.

The clever construction contractors have built the formwork for these 'tilt up' panels, applied the steel re-inforcing according to the engineering plans and poured the concrete, which is of a strength to ensure a long and maintenance free structure, whilst still endowing the massive building with the desired aesthetic values. Each similar panel is poured on top of the previous one with a plastic separation sheet.

Shown here after acrylic laser cut pieces have been tensioned with latex. These forms are nice, if a bit shallow. Stronger apparatus, pieced latex, and better scaffolding will allow deeper, contoured, and adaptable pieces. But for a start, this is great. Patterns are drawn in resist and decoration fills in spaces.
