Last year I swapped some home grown tomato plants for a plant I've never grown in my garden, Teasel. I'm pleased to say several teasel were given to me and once they flowered they where enjoyed by lots of insects especially bees. This is one of the seedheads taken macro 1:1 using flash and LED spotlights.

(86/365) The candle signifies the first anniversary of my last birthday. I was allowed to eat half of the cupcake :(. At least the preceding dinner was good.
For those of you who don’t know, I’ve started to bake sourdough. This was something which started in and came from lockdown. My journey was challenging. The making of the ‘starter’ was the most complex and indeed my first starter went in the bin. I persevered. For a little while I was taking photos of weekly makes and I’m still baking one or two each week and I have improved.
I had a bit of a breakthrough last bake and have to report this was the best bake ever! So I’m sharing with you for this week’s challenge. This is my B in square format.
waiting for new developer and fixer.
these were 4x5 paper negatives taken ????
I used the wrong developer. sigh..
but they're fun to play with.
5 more after this.
of course, no comments needed.
some paper, dunno which.
see what you can see.
**wednesday I was playing with the LF camera and managed to screw up four more negatives. I'm glad it's photo paper and not 4x5 film.
this is how I learn, and in this case, relearn.

The Deutscher Dom (German Church or New Church) is part of an important architectural ensemble composed of the German Church, the French Church, and the Konzerthaus (Concert Hall). The ensemble is located on the Gendarmenmarkt which is regarded as one of the most beautiful places in Berlin.
Reflected in the windows of the Quartier 205, a shopping mall, commercial and residential house located between the Gendarmenmarkt and Friedrichstrasse, is the domed tower of the German / New Church. The tower of the German Church, which is much bigger than the building of the church itself, never had a sacral function. In fact the name "Dom" refers to the French word dôme / English dome, and not to a cathedral. Complicated? Let's make it a little more so, the German Church is not to be confused with the Berlin Cathedral which in fact is a real cathedral and the Evangelical Supreme Parish and Collegiate Church of Berlin, Germany.

Dom reflektiert...

For anyone who has ever tried to find this place without an exact bearing or GPS coordinates, you will know what an absolute nightmare it is to find as you cannot see it until the very moment you arrive at it.... which isn't handy when you are trampling over huge wet slippy rocks that move under your feet and could quite easily start a rock slide.... The miners / farmers this used this from the 1700's obviously knew exctly where it was.
I hadn't shot this before and was dying to do so, we were doing quite well, (taking the correct path up at least) to a point we knew we were very close, when another photographer appeared from the opposite direction and said to us he knew where it was.. we followed him, and it soon became aparrent he actually didn't know where it was, but by this time we were quite a way off the path in a large rock field, I decided to let him go ahead and take stock of exactly where we were.
Few moments later I'd spotted a seperate path the total opposite way to wqhich we were heading and just decided it must be over there due to the view ive seen from there before and land features so we set off for that, the weather hadn't been great but was meant to stay dry till approx 4pm, again, total rubbish, as you get to expect....15 minutes or so later we were over there and it started to pour down, still hadn't found it... then over one tiny bit of land I spotted the window, result!!
Have to say it was great to find it in such circumstances where it actually became useful to shelter from the elements, for which it was designed, (that kind of thing floats my boat), anyway we made it inside, I'd shouted to the other photographer that I'd found it and he duly joined us inside (Mark from Durham, nice to meet you)
I set about shooting the inside, thankfully matches and candles were provided inside as I'd forgot to buy some in Keswick... as was a first aid kit which got used after my mate cut his head open on the low slate doorway! There's actually a small dent in the slate which I reckon is where numerous others have done the same...
Gone for a square format with this as I really just want the window area, there's nothing else I wanted to include, I actually wanted grim weather for this shot and the Lakes duly obliged... rain spots left on the window of course.
No such thing as bad weather, just a different set of challenges.
How can I resist photographing the hound on a walk?

A l’Eocène (- 53 Ma à -35 Ma)
A l’Oligocène (- 35 Ma à – 23.5 Ma)
