I've been working on these for months now, having trouble finding supplies to finish them. Considering each one sports 6 buttons, two buckles and around 40cm of leather trim, making ten was quite a task.
The two on the middle will have special matching items and go as a set. The rest will come with a ruffle blouse as previous editions.

camera: panorama wide pic
film: kodak colorplus 200
scanner: reflecta mf5000
Composite: The background of this photo is an infrared image I took with my Canon Rebel XT using a Canon EFS 17-85 lens. The pose is based on a publicity photo of Lon Chaney for a now lost movie "London After Midnight." The face is mine manipulated in Photoshop. It made a journey through many filters to appear as it is now. I entered a square format version of this in a Halloween contest by BenQ.
This one is shot on medium format film. Others in the series are shot on digital.

Found at a marina near Red Rock Reservoir in Iowa.
The sky was actually much more defined and threatening, but as I kept trying to process the image I found that the sky was still too distracting from the boat. I actually found myself muting down the clouds where I normally am beefing up contrast or tone.
I also tried other shots like other focal distances but decided on this one with inclusion of a more panorama style format and less sky.
The subject of this photograph is the same as the subject of Entanglement (II) but in this case I opted for a more traditional horizontal format instead of the vertical format I used for Entanglement (II). This allows me to focus more on the detail.

This is a 13x18cm clear glass ambrotype, made with a Konrad G. Seitz tailboard camera, made in Nuremberg c.1895; Konrad Seitz Universal Aplanat f8 lens; Quinn's Quick Clear collodion, made by me.
The collodion plates are made covering a glass plate or black metal plate with collodion and salts of iodine and / or bromine, sensitized with silver nitrate. Then you have to take the photo and reveal it in about 5 minutes, before the emulsion dries. It is one of the oldest photographic processes in the World, invented in 1851, and which dominated photography until 1880. But now it has resurfaced, as the images, very elaborate to create, that it gives are unique, razor sharp, magical and unrepeatable.

This is definitely the last West Pier shot! (I aim to visit this area later in the year, though not specifically the pier)...
A LE image shot at approaching dusk, of Brighton's West Pier, this time out a panoramic, which seems to suit the subject.
The evening was quite misty, so much so, that it was kind of touch and go weather the actual pier would be visible, luckily, (for me at least) the tide was receding, so I was able to get some images these make an interesting counterpoint to the shots the next morning when it was crystal clear. I did try out various dof settings, f/14.0 seemed to work quite nicely, f/5.6 and practically nothing was visible!
The pier gradually collapsed during the early 21st century. Major sections collapsed in late 2002, and two fires in March and May 2003 left little of the original structure.
I have been meaning to visit here for a while, and decided to put it off no longer, as I was concerned given it's fragile state.

Unger & Hoffmann 18x24 large format camera, made c.1920; brass Trousse Parisienne (probably DeMaria) combine lens, in 200mm setting, made c.1900; ADOX CHS100 II, expired for some months.
This is Sant Cugat del Racó, west of Navàs, in central Catalonia. Initially known as Sant Cugat de Castelladrall or Sant Cugat Salou (because it was an "alou" or establishment of the monastery of Ripoll). It was not known as "del Racó" until the XVII Century.
Despite being surrounded by only two or three houses among the countryside, it is a spectacular temple, in which Ripoll clearly invested a lot. The current church (the 2nd documented) dates from the XI Century, in Lombard Romanesque style. It has a Greek cross plan with three apses to the east (one disappeared in the 17th century to make way for the sacristy), a steeple bell tower and a magnificent cylindrical dome, unique in Catalonia (all the others of this era are polygonal. The door is from the Gothic period.

I recently traded in my Fred Picker Zone VI Wood Field camera for a Shan Hao PTB. Just felt the Shen Hao standard movements are better suited for my taste, and at nearly half the weight. Not having done a large format b&w portrait since the early 90’s, I asked my wife Beverley to model for a quick test shot. I took this one photo to see if the camera/lens is functioning properly, and to refresh my darkroom techniques. I’m looking forward to getting back into large format photography.
